Your Shade, Her Style: Mis-Match Down the Aisle!

Posted March 15, 2010 | 2 Comments

Your bridesmaids have unique personalities, styles, and body types.  Why not give them the green light when picking out the bridesmaid dress?  It takes the stress off of your shoulders (trying to find a single style that complements each girl’s shape), and lets your girls find a dress they love.

Keep in mind:  there is a fine line between the “mis-match” and “clash”  Choose a color you are comfortable with, and have girls find any dress in a complementing shade.

Here are some brides who dared to mis-match (and mastered the look!):

Worried about clashing?  Choose a designer that offers a variety of styles in the same texture.  We love this variety by J. Crew, which uses complementing shades in taffeta:

Or, this assortment in chiffon:

Additionally, you can choose the color, and have the girls choose a style that flatters their shape:

Having trouble coordinating colors?

Try this handy color palette we found.

Good luck!
