Hi, loves! If you’re planning a vintage wedding, have vintage brooches passed on to you from your grandmother or another relative, love to shop estate sales for vintage brooches and estate jewelry, or love to re-purpose items for your wedding, this post is for you! Today we’re sharing seven clever ways to use vintage brooches in weddings. Read on to see how to re-purpose vintage brooches and enter for a chance to win a beautiful accessory by PaperFlora for your wedding day. Enjoy!
Vintage Brooches in Weddings
1. Add vintage brooches to your bouquet.
Have you heard of / seen / dreamed of a vintage brooch bouquet? We love the idea of long-lasting bouquets made from brooches instead of fresh flowers — they last forever!
P.S. This was Miranda Lambert’s bouquet!
2. Pin it to your clutch purse.
If your brooch has a pinback, add it to your clutch purse for a mix of something old with something new.
3. Pin to your bouquet handle.
Here’s a unique idea: pin your vintage brooch to your bouquet handle! This works perfectly for a brooch that features a space for a photo
(honor a loved one on your wedding day).
4. Pin to your garter.
Add your vintage brooch to a garter as stunning “something old” embellishment.
5. Wear it in your hair.
If you’re planning a vintage wedding, a brooch tied into your hair accessory is a great idea. This is one of our favorite examples…
6. Use vintage brooches as shoe clips.
If your shoes don’t look ‘bridal’ enough, dress ‘em up with a pair of vintage brooch shoe clips.
7. Pin to your sash.
And, last but not least, pin a vintage brooch to your dress sash.
Now that you’ve seen seven different ways to use vintage brooches in weddings, it’s time to win one of these examples! We’ve teamed up with the lovely PaperFlora to give away this silk bridal clutch (with brooch embellishment) to one lucky Emmaline Bride reader! Enter between 12/27-1/2/14 (11:59pm EST). Use entry form below to enter. Prize value: $63. No cash value. No purchase necessary. One winner will be randomly selected to win; winner’s name will be announced on this blog post on 1/3/14. Winner will be notified via email. Winner has 72 (business) hours to respond to winning email; winner must ‘order’ prize within 6 months. Free shipping included to U.S. only. Past giveaway winners within 30 days not eligible to win. Good luck!

Hi, loves! Earlier this week, we talked about felt wedding ideas you’ll actually love, a post which received positive, excited responses. (We’re glad you liked it!) And, one of the artisans we featured – Ordinary Mommy – is back in the spotlight today! We’re sharing some of her whimsical hair pins for your flower girl. One of the reasons why we love this shop (besides the fact that her work is awesome) is because of Faith’s sweet story of how her products are made. In her shop, Faith talks about how each piece is made with love and surrounded by family, adding: “I don’t have my own studio space, so I’m rather certain that each piece a person takes home with them tells stories of small girls painting and dancing, a wee gentleman conspiring to build his latest Lego creation, and the moments of chaos surrounding its making.“. Isn’t that sweet? Read on to see a few of our favorite flower girl hair pins and enter for a chance to win a set! Enjoy!
Whimsical Flower Girl Hair Pins
What would your flower girl love to wear in her hair? For starters, something sparkly. I mean, I’m twentysomething and sparkly still wins over simple, every time. Also, since there are only five days until Christmas, I found this set to be especially lovely this time of year.
Of course, silver, gold, and blue are other fantastic choices.
Next up: let’s talk flower girl hair pins with… you guessed it, flowers!
(P.S. Flower girl hair pins aren’t just for little ones. They’re great for all ages!)
Is a favorite wedding theme a nature-inspired one? Check out these lovely leaf barrettes, hair clips, and shoe clips.
Ordinary Mommy also specializes in unique succulent hair clips:
If you love these hair clips, you’re in luck — a pair of these is up for grabs!

Pick Your Color!
Posted December 18, 2013 by EmmalineBride | ♥ 12 Comments
Hi, loves! Emma here. If you would have asked me a few years ago about felt wedding ideas for your big day, I would have imagined an explosion of overly artsy / craftsy decor. However, I’ve learned that felt — a commonplace craft supply product — can be cute, quirky and surprisingly lovely, too. In this post, you’ll find over twenty-five visually-inspiring felt wedding ideas for your big day. We’ve hand-selected our favorite felt wedding bouquets, boutonnieres, ring pillows, pennants, banners, and more! If you plan to incorporate these felt wedding accessories, here’s my best advice: don’t feel the need to overly ‘felt’-ify your wedding. Just pick a few key accessories you love in colors that coordinate with your overall decor. Ready to get started? Read on to begin… and, you bet your bottom dollar there’s a giveaway at the end of this post. One of these lovely felt wedding ideas is up for grabs… will you be the lucky winner?
Felt Wedding Ideas
Handmade felt wedding flowers have to be number one on my list. Check these out… they’re incredible!
Felt Wedding Flowers
First and foremost, felt flowers are my favorite of these wedding ideas. Well-made felt bouquets can be surprisingly chic (and they last forever). Here are a couple of our hand-picked faves:
Felt Wedding Pillow
The number one most sought after ceremony accessory is probably the ring pillow. It’s stemmed in tradition, but that doesn’t mean that your ring pillow has to be ordinary. This felt ring pillow collection is one of my favorites to date, with cascading felt flowers in colors to coordinate with your decor.
Felt Hair Crowns
Who says a hair crown has to be made of real flowers? These felt wedding crowns prove that felt can look lovely, too. Plus, they’ll last.
Felt Wedding Cake Topper
One of my favorite felt wedding ideas is the cake topper. I’ve seen how-to felting kits (and cute idea books, like this) at my local craft store, where you can make sweet little animal figurines. I’ve always wanted to try ‘em — maybe over the holidays I’ll give it a try! Here are a few animal cake toppers made of felt, along with a whimsical cake banner with a sweet heart felt and sequin monogrammed letters.
Felt Wedding Accessories
Next up: felt wedding accessories in the form of boutonnieres, shoe clips, a bolero, hair clips, and more.
Felt Wedding Decor
When you walk down the aisle, have guests wave these quirky ‘here comes the bride’ and ‘yay’ pennant banners for added whimsy.
Bunting / Garland
Deck out your space with a quirky banner, like these felt buntings or garlands.
Felt Wedding Giveaway!
We’ve teamed up with The Find Sac to give away a felt rose garland to one lucky winner! This felt rose garland includes (10) felt roses; each rose measures 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ x 1 1/4″ and measures a total of about 10 feet in length. Enter between 12/18-12/24/13 (11:59pm EST). One winner will be randomly selected and announced on this blog post. Winner will be contacted via email and must respond to email by December 28th (extra time given the Christmas holiday). Past giveaway winners within 30 days not eligible to win. No purchase necessary. FREE shipping included anywhere. Prize value: $28. No cash value. Winner must ‘order’ prize within 2 years. Good luck!
Now it’s your turn…
So, what do you think? Love felt… or not for you? Tell us with a comment below!
