Read on to see a sample thank you for cash gift, see a few thank you cards, and enter for a chance to win a set of forty thank you cards for your big day!

How to Write a Thank You for Cash Gift

If you receive a cash gift, the number one rule is to write how you plan to use it. Guests like to know that their gift of money will be enjoyed. For example, you can say something like, “Thank you for the gift of money. We plan to use it as part of our down payment on a house.” Or, “Thank you for the generous check. We are saving for a new car and this will help us reach our goal.” Most importantly? Be honest and sincere. Here’s an example:

Example Thank You for Cash Gift

Dear Aunt Louise and Uncle Fran,

Thank you for your generous gift of money. We are saving for a new home and we will be able to use it towards our down payment. Thank for you thinking of us and sharing our special day. Love, Mary and Tom

Example Thank You (If They Couldn’t Attend)

Dear Aunt Louise and Uncle Fran,

Thank you for your generous gift of money. We are saving for a new home and we will be able to use it towards our down payment. Thank for you thinking of us. We are sorry you could not attend our wedding but we hope to see you soon. Love, Mary and Tom

Hope it helps!

How to Keep Drinks Cold at a Wedding

Our latest Ask Emmaline question couldn’t have come at a better time! With spring in full swing and summer right around the corner, bride-to-be Ashlee writes us with this question. “I’m having an outdoor wedding and I want to know how to keep drinks cold. I’m serving wine and would like guests to help themselves. Any tips?” Absolutely — our favorite way to keep drinks cold at wedding receptions is with oversized galvanized tubs and tons of ice. Whether you’re chilling wine, champagne, beer, or soda bottles, a tub is the way to go — plus, guests can help themselves. Read on to find out more PLUS win a galvanized drink tub for your wedding from The Lovely Glass Jar! It’s all inside…

How to Keep Drinks Cold at a Wedding

At your wedding, display drinks in galvanized tubs with tons of ice in shade or away from direct sunlight. If you are hiring a bartender to serve other drinks, ask him or her to keep an eye on the ice levels and replenish as needed. It’s always a good idea to label the tubs with a sign if you’re planning multiple types of drinks so guests know what’s what. Keep plenty of glasses, bottle openers (especially wine bottle openers if you’re offering wine) nearby so guests can serve themselves. Be sure to take a peek at these mason jar drinking glasses for added inspiration.
