Wedding favors are one of my favorite parts of the wedding planning process. While some may say favors aren’t necessary, I think they’re a totally fun detail that I love to see at weddings. However, they don’t need to be overly pricey or detailed. Keep it sweet, simple, and personalized — and your guests will love ‘em. We’ll talk about our favorite wedding favors for 2014 in a few days (stay tuned!) but today we’re focusing on favor tags. Any wedding favor you dream up, create, or buy will require some sort of personalization to make it your own. A popular (and easy-to-DIY) detail you can add is a tag. It can say thank you to guests, include your name and/or wedding date, and tie in your theme just a bit further. In this post, we’ll share favorite ideas for DIYing your favor tags PLUS one lucky reader will win one of the items below! Read on for the full scoop…
Wedding Favor Tags
Wedding favor tags come in all sorts of sizes and shapes. Recently, I stopped in at a few local craft stores to get a glimpse on what’s popular right now. It seems like kraft favor tags are here to stay — and white tags are always popular for weddings, too. Mix and match different shapes by using scalloped tags or heart shaped tags…
Pick a Tag, Any Tag
I also love round tags, especially for small favors (so they won’t overpower the item).
Make ‘em colorful for spring with these…
For more formal soirees, try these notched square favor tags with a silver-y border.
Guests can re-use these mini chalkboard tags! Chalkboard is still in… and it continues to be an emerging trend in weddings.
Add Some String
After you’ve picked a tag, you can add embellishment to is. Sometimes a kraft tag will come with standard twine which can be switched out for something more fun. Colorful twine, for instance, is one of my favorite options (especially for whimsical weddings).
For a rustic wedding, jute twine (almost rope-like) or hemp string are perfect accents.
Or, for a beach wedding, raffia is a natural (and fitting) option.
Finally, a stamp is the easiest way to personalize your favor tags. Add a stamp to your tag that incorporates your theme (such as an anchor for a nautical wedding, shell stamp for a beach wedding, bird stamp for a bird themed wedding, woodland animal stamp for a woodland wedding… you get the idea). If you choose a larger tag (like this style kraft tag), you can further personalize it with a big stamp that includes your names and the wedding date. Here are a few examples:
It’s that easy!
Now you have favor tags that are completely personalized, hand-picked (and DIYed) by you, and perfect for your upcoming wedding.
