Happy Sunday! On Friday, we showed you how to turn your wedding vows into art as a lasting keepsake in your home. Now, we’re bringing you another brilliant keepsake idea but this one includes your guests. Instead of a traditional guest book (or in addition to), place these miniature booklets at each table for guests to write in words of advice. We’ve talked about guest book alternative advice cards before, but this one is different: instead of placing this guest book alternative in a separate area of your reception, one book is placed at each table. This means you’ll have a keepsake to remember guests at each table AND it proves to be a great icebreaker for guests to laugh, talk, and share their favorite words of wisdom for you to read post honeymoon. It makes a great icebreaker!

Jennifer and Damon’s Minneapolis black tie wedding is something you won’t want to miss. Their elegant Minneapolis wedding has the perfect combination of class and DIY details. Some of Jennifer’s DIY details include the handmade table number cards with favorite quotes and cake topper college mascots, Wisconsin’s “Badger” and Nebraska’s “Herbie Husker”. Jennifer’s handmade earrings were from an artist on Etsy. Photographing Jennifer and Damon’s Minneapolis black tie wedding was Natalie from Natalie Champa Jennings Photography. Natalie explains, “Their gorgeous setting made for a “black tie” gathering. As you’ll see, Jennifer’s incredible taste and style created the stylish classy mood perfectly, from soft floral colors from Christine’s Floral Touch, to black and white and bow ties. The gorgeous marble staircase and exquisite statues served as the ultimate touches to this amazing venue.”

Happy Friday! Today, we’re talking about wedding vows: are you writing your own, opting for traditional vows, or a little bit of both? Either way, you’ll love this wedding vow art by the lovely folks at B is for Brown. This wall art makes a brilliant gift for the bride and groom, who can submit the answers to the statement: “I promise to…” When reading one couple’s custom example, I couldn’t help but smile and get a bit teary-eyed as I read what the groom wrote to his bride. His promises included things like, “open all the jars with difficult lids”, “let you borrow my sweatpants”, and “sip your cocoa first to make sure it isn’t too hot for you.” The bride’s answers were sweet, too, with promises like, “I promise to… make your birthday a big deal”, “give you the last bite (most of the time)”, and my personal favorite: “play halo with you even though I’m bad at it”. Love is in the air today! The Groundhog walked out and saw his shadow (6 more weeks of winter, folks) only to climb back into his bed and tag Cupid as “it”. To kick off the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday, we’re sharing these adorable fabric covered love letters by the lovely people at Duryea Place Designs. These paper mache letters are covered in a beautiful vintage-style floral paper with the edges slightly distressed to achieve a sweet, shabby chic look.
