We’re always excited to find unique guest book alternative ideas. We wholeheartedly adore traditional guest books; in fact, I have one in my home and love flipping through it. But we love to see the creative twists some couples use to play a pivotal role in their home decor after the wedding day. Imagine a fun decor piece to hang on a wall or a mad lib booklet to give you a chuckle en route on to your honeymoon! So, today, we’re bringing you another guest book alternative idea which we like to call the one word challenge. And, having found a new interest in gardening, this find truly warms my green-thumbed heart.
In lieu of a traditional book, this guest book alternative instructs guests to write one word to describe the bride and one word to describe the groom. Guests are instructed to write this word onto a river rock stone by using silver sharpie markers. Two galvanized pails (they painted theirs) – labeled ‘Bride’ and ‘Groom’ – make a cute dropping spot for the stones and will make the bride and groom smile, laugh, and tear up at the thoughtful one-word answers the guests provide. If you wish, have guests write the word on one side and sign their name on the opposite side. After the wedding, place these stones in your garden or in your home in a decorative vase or on a glass candle display. You’ll love reading the heartfelt (or hilarious!) words your guests provide in your love nest forever after.

I agree. I like the idea of having a hands on guest book instead of just a signature.

Hi Judi,
Glad you like it! It sounds like a fun idea for the bride and groom to read afterward and a good challenge for the guests.
