Personalize Your Gown: Dress Sashes

Posted April 8, 2011 by EmmalineBride | ♥ 1 Comment

Today we are beginning a new ongoing series entitled Personalize Your Gown to highlight chic, stylish handmade accessories that add a personal touch to your wedding gown. But first, let’s get the creativity flowing with a little bridal gown inspiration. These gowns below are from the new Vera Wang collection at David’s Bridal, and they are insanely gorgeous. I especially love the first one (below) with the chic v-neck, the sash accent, and the ethereal, absolutely dreamy tulle skirt. This dress, as well as the other wedding dresses from the collection have one similar trend: details, details, details! Take a close look below and notice the unique accents used throughout:

Once you’ve found the perfect gown, it’s time to personalize it. Adding a dress sash is an easy and versatile way to incorporate a pop of color, texture, sparkle and shine down the aisle. By adding a sash, you are able to add a personal touch without changing the overall look. The key is to find a sash that adds your individual style while also complementing your gown. It is also a fun piece you can re-use after the wedding day. In particular, I love handmade sashes, for obvious reasons, so we’re highlighting a few of our favorite new finds. Take a peek and let us know which one you love:

Something Blue?
Don’t forget to incorporate “something blue”…

Don’t forget your bridesmaids and the flower girl, too. After all, every girl could use a sweet sash to accent her dress.
