Luke and Joanne are a fun-loving couple from San Francisco who know how to plan a memorable event from start to finish. If you delight in events with charm, festivity and DIY details you will love this real wedding feature.
The entire event (via Martha Stewart Weddings) conveyed a cohesive theme from square one. The wording of the wedding invitations sparked a triumphant tone: “Join Luke & Joanne for an afternoon of leisure and gaiety”, which emphasized the celebratory mood of the wedding. The invitations consisted of sunny yellows, oranges, and soft blues with a pop of red for contrast. Jeff Canham, an artist based in San Francisco, is a friend of the couple and the designer of these beautiful invitations.

After the ceremony at San Francisco City Hall, Luke and Joanne carried this creative ‘Just Married’ flag. It was handmade by Luke and Joanne and hand-painted by Jeff Canham. The new Mr. and Mrs. led guests to the reception by carrying the flag with guests following behind. They look so happy!

The escort card flags tied together the color palette and theme perfectly. Joanne made these flags by hand, and you can, too! Read the full do-it-yourself tutorial via (Martha Stewart Weddings).

The detail we admire most is the handmade stacked cake stand featuring rum wedding cake by Pamela Cianci of Sugar & Spike. This was another DIY project tackled by the couple: Luke made the cake stand and Joanne painted it. The flag (“J♥L”) is the cherry on top. Lovely!

I'm going to make myself a "Just Married" sign just like that one and march around with it wearing my wedding dress… even though my wedding was in June. How cute!
