• Peony Bridal Bouquet with Stripes

    Posted July 30, 2011 by EmmalineBride | ♥ 7 Comments

What’s black and white and pink all over? This peony bridal bouquet with stripes! We love the contrast of the bold pinks from the peonies against the black and white striped ribbon. This sophisticated + chic bouquet is easy to DIY: just gather a handful of peonies, wrap floral tape around the stems, and tie plenty of black and white striped ribbon over the tape. Tie in a bow and – ta-da! A perfect peony bouquet!

Peony Hair Fascinator with Something Blue!

    Posted March 7, 2011 by EmmalineBride | ♥ 7 Comments

    pink peony hair fascinator

Good morning! We love to see the peony in full bloom, especially when the weather suggests spring is more than a stone’s throw away. (After all, this weekend alone I witnessed March switching from a lamb to a lion in seconds flat. Rain… rain… SNOW?! Yes, three feet of it to be exact.) So, we thought this morning you could use a little spring inspiration – and what better place to start than with a peony? This hair fascinator by Gardens of Whimsy (a lovely shop!) features one large pink peony, a bushel of pale blue french veiling (something blue!) and miniature pink blossoms on vines. Perfect for garden weddings as a bridal veil alternative!

    Mason Jar Centerpieces

    Posted February 19, 2011 by EmmalineBride | ♥ 9 Comments

Looking for simple + sweet table decor that is easy to DIY? We love mason jar centerpieces! Just combine your favorite colorful flowers (for spring and summer some of our favorites include lavender, peonies, daisies, sunflowers, and wildflower bunches) and place in a mason jar full of water. Mason jars are easily my favorite addition to wedding decor and this is just one way to incorporate them. You can find half gallon mason jars (the larger one as seen below with the lavender flowers) via Midwest Finds or buy the regular size mason jars in bulk via Amazon. You can also find mason jars inexpensively at garage sales or estate sales in your area. Get creative + have fun!

Ethereal Bridal Bouquet: Peonies, Lace + Pearls

    Posted February 3, 2011 by EmmalineBride | ♥ 5 Comments

I love handmade bridal bouquets for many reasons but my favorite is the non-throw-away factor. I selected real flowers for my wedding since at that time, I had no idea about buttons, brooches, fabric, feathers, and blooms as viable options… I was a bit of a bridal bouquet virgin. So, I have first-hand experience with what I like to call “bouquet-toss-heartbreak”. The last song had been played, the cake had been eaten, the wedding was over and I possessed the most gorgeous bouquet I secretly knew was destined for an ugly trash bin. Sure, I tried to preserve it but realized it would never look anything like the original. Instead, it just looked… dead. Save yourself the heartbreak and invest in a bouquet you can cherish forever. Place on a vase in your home and admire for years – your kids will love to see it someday, too.

For example, this is one of the most ethereal bouquets I have ever seen. It possesses a charming elegance with a vintage feel and incorporates all things lovely like lace, flowers, pearls, rhinestones, peonies and dahlias. This bouquet will look stunning down the aisle – and after the wedding! By Vintage Proverbs. Images by Beautiful Endings Photography.

    Posted January 7, 2011 by EmmalineBride | ♥ 16 Comments

Happy Friday! Is it just me or is winter becoming a bit dismal? I know it’s a tad early, but I’ve got a touch of spring fever. I traveled to the west coast over the holiday to visit family and the weather (for the most part) was positively beeee-yuutiful, so I blame them. ;) But here the cloudy skies have taken over and I’m dying for spring and unfortunately winter “officially” began less than a month ago. But… let’s not talk about that. Instead, let’s focus on these bursts of handmade inspiration with pops of color + fun ideas!

First, we spotted some amazing table settings + wedding flowers…
