Two of our best friends, Holly + Mike, are getting married this November! They sought our help in planning their wedding and we couldn’t be more excited for them. That’s why we’re featuring their Independence Oaks engagement session today. Independence Oaks park is a beautiful setting in Clarkston, Michigan for taking photographs as it’s filled with great walking trails, shady trees, and a lake. On a recent summer evening just before dusk they met with Mark from You Bet I Do Photography. Once at the park, they strolled along the walking path and stopped at the lake for Mark to capture a few photographs. Holly and Mike chatted, laughed, and just had fun throughout the rest of their e-session. When you look at their photographs it’s easy to see their love for one another and the special connection that they share. See the photographs, find out how they met, and hear how Mike proposed…

Colorado’s mountains offer some of the most breathtaking landscape this country has to offer. So why not have your engagement photos taken there? Our featured couple Danielle and Mark did exactly that. Their Colorado Mountains engagement session was captured by Emmy from Searching for the Light Photography. Emmy tells us, “Danielle & Mark contacted me saying they would be in Colorado and wanted to take their engagement photos up in the mountains in between their ski adventures. While they didn’t want photos actually skiing they wanted to capture the beauty that is out here, I mean who wouldn’t! After too many emails and a million hoops to jump through with photo permits we finally decided…
Who loves Colorado engagement sessions? We’re excited to share with you Courtney and Kirby’s lovely engagement session! Their session was taken in downtown Denver by Emmy from Searching for the Light Photography. Emmy tells us, “When I first meet Courtney & Kirby I knew they were going to be so much fun to work with. Courtney is so adorable and fun loving. Kirby is calm, quiet and genuinely happy, but most importantly these two are crazy about each other – which of course makes my job so much fun! I love how much they laugh together and how comfortable they are in each others arms. They moved together to Denver not knowing anyone and starting new with nothing. I love how it seems that transition really bonded them well and how much they are in love with this city. So it was very fitting that we took pictures at Union Station and in LoDo near Commons Park. I hadn’t been inside Union Station before but man is it gorgeous, good job Denver on hiring amazingly talented architects and interior designers!”
Courtney + Kirby’s Colorado Engagement Session
Courtney says, “We chose Commons Park and Union Station because its what we love about downtown Denver! All the historic buildings and the charm from Union Station paired with the mountain views and small town park feel of Commons are exactly what Kirby and I wanted captured in the pictures… aside from our deep connection & love for one another, obviously.”
Beautiful, uplifting, and iconic are a few of the words we would use to describe this Detroit engagement shoot. Meet Melissa and Hayes! Their engagement session this past fall was in and around Corktown, Detroit. The architecture, waterfront, and urban setting made for some amazing photos. Not to mention, I don’t think we’ve ever seen a happier couple! Check out the work of our newest Michigan wedding photographer, Chelsea Brown Photography…

This Minnesota engagement is one for the storybooks! Meet Anne and Ben. This amazing couple has one heck of a love story and engagement photos to boot! Their photographer Stacey from LaCoursiere Photography tells us more after the click…
Stacey tells us, “Anne and Ben are the definition of candid. Their excitement, love, and adoration for each other is amazing! After their first date, Anne and Ben knew they were meant to be. They then spent the next month spending every moment together and it took only that one month for Ben to propose! When you know, you know… and they knew!”
“We started out the engagement session at their favorite date spot, Sir Benedicts in Duluth. We then headed to THEE proposal spot on the canal park lake walk where they spent many summer days relaxing on the beach, having fun, and just enjoying the beauty of lake superior. It was so much fun and I am seriously in love with this amazing couple and in love with these images from their session. I feel like these images reflect so much of who these two are together… naturally and beautifully in love. I am so excited for their Rose Garden Duluth wedding next summer!”
