Hi, lovelies! Happy Thursday! Are you ready for a new Ask Emmaline question? We are, too! This question was sent to us from mother-of-the-bride, Sheila, who asks:
Great question, Sheila! A kitchen shower is one of my favorite bridal shower themes because it can include gifts related to the kitchen, cooking, and guests can bring in their favorite recipes to share. There are plenty of amazing bridal shower favors that come to mind, especially for a kitchen themed shower. Here is a list of ideas to inspire you!
Kitchen Shower Favors
1. Wooden Spoons
These wooden spoons over at Melinda Wedding Design are a wonderful favor idea! Who can’t use another wooden spoon in the kitchen, not to mention one that’s so incredible cute?
If you’re female between the ages of 8 and 98, you probably have some sort of addiction to lip balm. Or chapstick. Or even lipstick, lip stain, or a lip pencil. We love our lips. We consistently get dry lips, so we’re always putting on layer after layer of lip balm. We love shine, so we pile on a top coat. We crave color, so we have an entire makeup case devoted to just lipsticks. (Unless that’s… just me?) Everyone I know seems to love lip balm in some way or shape, and that’s why lip balm makes an amazing bridal shower favor.
Now, lip balm makes a great favor: this is true. But not just any lip balm. Today we’re talking about the good stuff. Meet The Favor Stylist, your go-to gal when you need lip balm stat, whether it be for a bridal shower, wedding, birthday party, or just a night out with your girlfriends. They’re also ideal for the bachelorette party: you know, the “last sail before her veil”.
Today we’ll tell you four reasons why this collection of lip balm shower favors is more amazing than others. Read on for the full scoop!
One of our favorite bridal shower favors this year is nail polish. Brides want to give guests a favor they’ll actually use, and nail polish is always a definite win. But what kind of nail polishes should you give as bridal shower favors? Today we’re sharing a new polish that makes fabulous favors for a few reasons. And you’ll probably want to get your hands on some quite literally right now because they’re having a huge limited time sale. Find out why these nail polishes are becoming the new big thing for brides and their guests. Enjoy!
Mint Nail Polishes as Favors
These nail polishes by Mint feature lovely shades and catchy names, like “Mint to Be”, “She Said Yes”, and “I Do”, shown below.
Ah, I love this blush pink:
And… who can resist mint as lovely as this?
These polishes aren’t just made to look good; they are actually made with good ingredients — and a whole lot of love, too.
They are hand-brewed and bottled in sunny Los Angeles. The company’s founder, Greta, founded Mint after finding out that her favorite nail polishes included awful ingredients like Formaldehyde, DBP, and Toulene, which are all known cancer-causing agents. So, she got to work in her home kitchen in Venice Beach, mixing and matching pigments to make her own lacquers she could use for pretty nails. Her idea was to create “professional grade polish, modern pigment-packed colors, and perfume style packaging”. And all without any cancer-causing chemicals. And MINT began! We’re so proud of what she’s done.
Not only do we love how they look, we love how they’re made. With a whole lot of love and happy ingredients! That’s why we think they make beautiful bridal shower favors for guests.
1) Most people use nail polish regularly
2) Most people prefer to use good clean ingredients
3) Favors that are functional = money well spent
To give these polishes as favors, simply order pick your favorite colors, have ’em shipped, and simply add a small ‘thank you’ tag and pretty ribbon tied around each polish bottle. Unlike other nail polishes we’ve seen, these bottles are boutique quality so they’re pretty much gift-giving ready! You can find out more details about pricing and colors here.
I’ve been particularly obsessed with keeping my nails looking their best lately. I’ve been rocking a pretty shade of pink, but this “I Do” pink above is now on my list of colors to try. What’s your favorite polish right now?

I love when wedding decor can be re-used as home decor. Loooove it. So when I (Emma here!) spotted these modern hanging air plant holders over at Handmade Sam Made, I couldn’t resist sharing their geometric awesomeness with you. But first, what is an air plant, you ask? Well, I’ll tell you!
What is an Air Plant?
These is an air plant? Here’s what it looks like:
An air plant — aka Tillandsia, if you want to get technical — is a sometimes rootless tropical plant with grasslike leaves, according to Google. Water and airborne nutrients are absorbed through its leaves.
Air Plant Wedding Decor
An air plant makes an exceptionally lovely flower alternative for wedding decor, especially for a modern wedding because it offers a minimalist look (similar to the succulent). If you want to decorate your wedding with air plants, we recommend using them as centerpieces, like so:
Or in a vase:
Another way to use air plants as decor is to hang them, whether from trees, rafters, or displayed on a back wall as a sconce or plant holder. These brass Himmeli designs are some of the prettiest I’ve seen yet…

Do you love dual-purpose wedding decor like I do? Emma here and you might remember these chic flower vase favors we talked about yesterday as wedding favors, place cards, AND decor. Pretty amazing, right? Today we’re back to share another dual-purpose idea: wedding wishing trees! They serve as your favors and guest book in one (plus, they’re so pretty as decor, too). These wishing trees are handmade by Simply Mad Weddings and we think they’re a truly brilliant idea. Read on to see more…
Wedding Wishing Trees
The wedding wishing trees from Simply Mad Weddings shimmer and sparkle. Each one is made of a hard plastic with a sturdy base, so it won’t tip over easily. It measures 32″ tall and can be customized in either light rose gold glitter or silver glitter, whichever coordinates best with your decor. On the tree, you can hang ornaments — also from Simply Mad Weddings — which serve as favors for guests. The ornaments are available in different shapes like starfish, hearts, stars, etc., to coordinate with your wedding theme. The tree also serves as a guest book because when a guest takes an ornament as a favor, they leave a wish (written on a tag and hung on the tree in place of the ornament). After the wedding, the newlyweds are left with sweet, handwritten wishes by guests; guests get to take home a ornament favor to enjoy for years to come. It’s a win-win!
You can choose ornaments to tie into your wedding season, too! We spotted leaves for fall or snowflakes for winter:

Easy Wedding DIY Ideas
1. This fabric backdrop for photos
For a unique backdrop guests can use for photos, try a custom fabric design. Here’s a favorite:
2. This custom fabric for your favors
I’ve seen their new fabric in person and it’s so soft!
This fabric is high quality and ideal for using throughout your decor. You can even take a small swatch of fabric and gather it to make a favor container and secure with twine. Here are just a few of the spring-y patterns we’re loving right now:
You can also use their fabric for custom table runners, chair decor for the sweetheart table, or make your own hoop art (see #7 below).
And my personal favorite: their monogrammed dot with pink!
3. These custom cocktail napkins
4. These delicious brownies or cookies
I’m not the world’s best baker, but I’m learning! The idea of baking dozens for guests, though, would stress me out. That’s why when I saw they had custom brownies and cookies at the ready, I had to share them with you! Want delectable favors that are personalized… without the hassle of making them yourself? Just click and it’s done!
5. These personalized cake pops
They have cake pops, too! I love cake pops.
