DIY Wedding Candy Buffet

1. Select a color palette + go candy shopping!

For your candy buffet, you’ll want to select a color palette that coordinates with your wedding or event. Typically, two colors work best. As a visual, we’ve selected black and white as our palette combination. Through our research, we’ve found that Candy Warehouse offers an incredible selection of candy specifically tailored for wedding candy buffets. In fact, they even separate the candy selections by color to make it super-easy. Here are a few we selected as a visual. (Note: All candies below available at Candy Warehouse! Just search under the color categories to find them.)

2. Select glass jars, vases, or containers to house the candy.

Use clear glass jars, vases, and other containers to display your candies. To inspire you, we’ve selected a few favorite apothecary jars you may wish to consider. For starters, there’s the traditional glass three quart apothecary jar, shown below:

We also love this 10″ apothecary jar (top) and 12″ candy buffet container. Don’t forget a candy scoop for each jar!

diy wedding candy buffet

To achieve a full look, you’ll want to select a few various jars in varying shapes, sizes, and depths. Make sure the jar isn’t too narrow or too tall for guests to easily grab.

*EB TIP: If you don’t want to buy new jars, borrow from family and friends or head to flea markets for great deals on vintage glassware.

3. Buy or craft adorable handmade candy buffet bags.

Make sure to have plenty of candy buffet bags on hand for guests to use. Make your own or buy handmade! We love the collection at Clementine Weddings, Featured Artisan in The Marketplace, chock-full of charming handmade wedding candy bags. Here’s one of our favorites…

4. Print your wedding candy buffet sign.

We’ve created a FREE printable sign for use at your candy buffet table! The size is 5″x7″ and can be printed on cardstock, cut, and displayed in a frame. This printable is for personal use only; commercial use prohibited. (Click here to download the printable!)

5. Print tags; attach to jars with black ribbon.

Use our FREE printable (click here to download the printable!) for hang tags you can print on cardstock. The tags are blank and can be edited with your computer (and an illustration software); or, print and use a black pen to do the job. To assemble, simply cut tags from cardstock, wrap ribbon around jar and tie. Affix tag to front of jar with adhesive on back of tag and fasten to ribbon.

Here is an example of the hang tags:

For ribbon, we recommend using black satin ribbon (we found this ribbon via Amazon by MayArts) sized 1.5″ wide.
