Are you a bride who wants to skip the veil? Then we’ve found a gorgeous veil alternative for you! We spotted this gorgeous lace bridal headpiece over at SIBO Designs and Sheila has outdone herself with this one. It’s designed to flow perfectly with the shape of your head and the little loops on the sides attach easily to your hair with bobby pins. This headpiece is handmade with Swarovski pearl beads, seed beads, and rhinestones. My favorite part? The sumptuous silk organza petals! This makes an exceptional veil alternative for the bride who wants to wear her hair down and incorporate elegance into her look.
Happy Tuesday, loves! After one of the coldest winters I can remember, it’s finally getting warmer around here (upper 40’s and 50’s all week long). In some places, that’s considered cold; in Michigan, that’s shorts and sandals weather. ;) Anyway, with spring around the corner, we’ll finally get to see flowers in bloom. Since we’re too impatient to wait (you, too?), we thought it would be fun to bring some spring to you, in the form of spring wedding crowns for the bride, bridesmaids, or flower girl. These floral hair crowns are already in full bloom and ready to be worn. We spotted them over at Roses & Lemons, where our friend Cecil has been busy working around the clock on this new gorgeous collection. Ready to see what’s new? You’ll love these…
Wondering what to wear instead of a veil? A bridal headband is one lovely option! Read on to find out more + be sure to subscribe so you never miss a post.
Are you considering a veil alternative for your big day? A bridal headband is one of our favorite choices, especially since it is extremely versatile. It can be worn with nearly any hairstyle and can be paired with a veil or without. You can even wear it with a veil for just the ceremony portion, and remove the veil for the reception. This question to our Ask Emmaline inbox couldn’t have come at a better time, since the lovely Blair Nadeau Millinery just released a beautiful new collection of bridal headbands, halo headbands, fascinators, and more for the discerning bride-to-be. Alicia asks,
I want to wear something other than a bridal veil, but I want it to be fancy enough. Also, am I supposed to wear a veil with a bridal crown or headband or is it better without?
Great question, Alicia! One of the wonderful things about a bridal headband or crown is that it can be worn with or without a veil. There’s no requirement — as the bride, you get to decide whether or not you wear a veil at all. It’s really up to your own personal preference. We think they look great with or without, and can really show off any hairstyle (whether up or down) nicely. To inspire you, here are a few handpicked (+ handmade!) bridal headbands we found that will fit the bill nicely. Some of these headbands can even be transitioned to a sash, which we love. Take a look…

Have you considered skipping the veil altogether and wearing an alternative instead? One such option is a set of bridal flower hair pins, which can be pinned into any hairstyle you choose, whether it be an elegant updo or a more casual hair down hairstyle. Or, if you still love the look of a veil, you could always wear an alternative (like hair pins or a headband) just for the reception so your veil doesn’t get in the way of your awesome dance moves. We get it. Either way, you’ll love this giveaway. We’ve teamed up with Ayca from Aya Wedding to offer this set of four white flower hair pins to one lucky Emmaline Bride reader! Check ’em out.

Hi, lovelies! Did you have a nice weekend? I did SO MANY THINGS this weekend, list-cross-off kind of stuff. I finally put a small wall gallery up the stairs. I reorganized my home office. I did eight billion loads of laundry. I did many other things. I love weekends like this — it super-charges my week for sure. I hope you had a productive weekend, too (or relaxing — depending on what you really needed!) We’re kicking off the brand new week with a gorgeous hairstyle inspiration spotted over at Hair and Makeup By Steph (whom we adore). This curly hair down hairstyle features soft ringlets in the most elegant way. It doesn’t hurt that the bride has gorgeous hair, too. Take a peek!
