We’re excited about this post because it’s two-parted: first, it’ll help you with some fun ideas on what to pack for the honeymoon, and second, it is a giveaway from our friends over at StockinGirl! They’re giving away a pair of custom wedding stockings to one reader for her wedding day — and beyond. But first, check out the fun honeymoon accessories we spotted…
Hey, loves! Happy Monday! What a wonderful weekend that was. We celebrated Andrew’s 1st Birthday and it was amazing. We’re happy to kick off a brand new week with all of you! To start things off… when you hear Doie, what do you think of? I think of my Doie robe, honestly the softest and most delightful thing to wear while reading a book. Or sipping on coffee in the morning while it’s still dark outside. Or putting on my makeup for date night with the hubby. I love my robe. And I am so excited that one of you will win a Doie robe of your own as our latest wedding giveaway this week! The robes from Doie are made of modal jersey so they’re ultra soft and feature kimono-style sleeves for added style. There’s also a 100% silk trim with a pattern, which I adore. The robes also have a permanent exterior belt AND interior belt so you won’t, you know, disrobe unexpectedly (yikes!) during your getting ready photos. And, last but not least, it can be machine washed and laid flat to dry — and let me tell you, it comes out AMAZING every single time. You can also dry-clean it, if you prefer (but I don’t have time for that). :)
Anyway, check out some of these styles and enter for a chance to win your robe!
Win a Robe for the Bride
The lovely designer of Doie, Sara Kirsner, tells us more: “As a 12-time bridesmaid (yes, really!), I know a thing or two about bridesmaid gifts! Doie Lounge was born from the idea that these glamorous, super-soft robes make the perfect gift for a bride to give to her maids. These robes make beautiful and practical gifts for the bridal party, while infusing an often-ignored moment (getting ready the morning of), with elegant detail. The robes look amazing in the pre-wedding primping photos and are a gift that your best ladies will surely wear again and again.“
Plus, we wanted to note that if you’re buying bridesmaids for your wedding party, bulk discounts apply: 15% off when buying 3 or more, 20% on 5 or more, 25% off with a purchase of 8 or more, and 30% off when buying 10+ robes.
Hi, loves! It’s time for our 2nd installment of our honeymoon planning tips (part 2/4). Last time we discussed how to plan a honeymoon, we gave you tips on what to do 8 months to 1 year before the wedding. Today we’re talking about what you need to plan a honeymoon 6 months to 3 months before the wedding. Read on to see what’s next on your to-do list…
Need to rent a car? Now is the time to take care of it. Don’t forget about transportation to and from the airport.
3. Renew (or get) your passport, visas, and any documentation.
The most important of the honeymoon planning tips? Getting your passport! Sometimes it can take longer than you’d like to get a passport. If you’re going out of the country, make sure you have the required documentation for your trip.
4. Get tickets for events.
If there are particular events or sights you’d like to see, register for them now (or at least add them to your schedule). You don’t need to plan too many activities, but having a few scheduled is a fun idea.
5. Figure out what you’ll be packing.
What do you need to bring with you? Do you need new luggage, a bikini, beach attire, comfy foldable flats, cute new sunglasses with polka dots (I totally just bought a pair because, polka dots, duh), chic sandals, a wide-brimmed sunhat, beach towel… you get the idea.

In conclusion, now that you know how to plan a honeymoon 4 to 6 months before, it’s time to start thinking about lingerie. We’ll be covering it next week in the next edition of our honeymoon planning tips series! ♥
Hi, loves! This post is an important one: pin it, tweet it, facebook it (however you’d like to share it) because you’ll want it for later! Today we’re sharing part one (of four) on How to Plan a Honeymoon. In this post, we’ll cover what you need to do to plan a honeymoon eight months to one year before your trip. (Did you know you needed to start planning that early? It was news to me when I planned my honeymoon, too.) We’ll be doing one post a week, so by the end of July you’ll be on your way to planning the perfect honeymoon vacation. Now, some of these may seem obvious, but it helps to have them all in one (easy-to-reference) place. Let’s get started, shall we? Oh, and I wanted to mention that there is an awesome giveaway happening inside this post by ArenLace… so don’t miss it!
Set your budget right off the bat. This will also help determine where you’d like to go, based on what you can (comfortably) afford. Don’t forget to allocate funds for activities, food, and incidentals while you’re there. It’s always better to have more than enough money than to be worried about every penny while on your honeymoon. Need help setting a budget? Read how to plan your honeymoon on a budget.
2. Call a travel agent (if you plan to use one).
If you want to take the guesswork out of planning your honeymoon, a travel agent can be an invaluable resource. A good travel agent will know the best locations, deals, and places to visit while you’re there. Most times, the fees that travel agents charge is nominal.
3. Pick a place.
Narrow it down and pick your perfect honeymoon destination. We’ve showed some amazing destinations in the past here.
4. Make travel arrangements (flight + hotel).
Once you’ve picked the place, book it! Book your flight and hotel accommodations as soon as possible. Read this excellent post about the best time to book airline tickets before you buy — it could save you a bundle. Look up ticket prices on Kayak — I’ve always saved the most money on my own trips using that service. Don’t forget to pick the best seats on the plane before you book by using this. It will actually look up the type of plane being used on your flight and then give you a breakdown of the best seats on the flight. I used to book corporate travel for a past employer and I always picked the best seats (most legroom, away from the lavatory and galley, largest armrest).
5. Get a passport or renew yours (if you need one).
Since a passport lasts four years, you can renew or get yours now and save yourself the headache closer to the wedding.
