10 Incredible Camp Themed Wedding Ideas

Brides: if you are looking for a fun wedding theme, you prefer campfires to cocktail parties, and want a wedding theme that hasn’t been done a million times before, you’ve come to the right place! Today we’re sharing ten incredible ideas for a camp themed wedding to inspire your bouquet, place settings, wedding favors, invitations, and more. A camp themed wedding is a perfect theme for the couple who loves the great outdoors and is especially fitting for a wedding in the woods (free backdrop included, courtesy of Mother Nature). This camp themed wedding shoot was beautifully styled by Melissa Osborne of All About You Productions (with photos by Stevie B Photography) and places an emphasis on a chic camping approach. She tells us, “For this shoot, we decided to go with a camping theme… but we did not want it to be too casual or like many of the other photos you find on the internet.” This camp themed wedding is fresh, fun, and unlike every other camp themed wedding you’ve seen: there’s no flannel or s’mores here! Read on to find out more…

Camp Themed Wedding: 10 Incredible Ideas

1. Location

When you’re selecting a wedding theme, one of the most important details to consider is your location. This shoot took place at a campsite within a state park; you can easily apply this look to any woodland setting.

2. Kraft Wedding Invitations

A kraft wedding invitation sets the tone for a casual, camp themed wedding. By ElliBell Creative Services.

3. Tablescape

Melissa used a burlap table runner over traditional picnic tables, which were available on-site at the campground. Melissa found green vessels to display small floral arrangements (arranged by Red Poppy Floral Design), and brilliant blue napkins pack a pretty punch of color.

4. Galvanized Pitcher Table Number / Centerpiece

A small piece of burlap (with the table number painted onto it) is attached to the front of this galvanized pitcher to become a chic table number in an instant. It also serves as the table’s centerpiece with a large floral arrangement to coordinate with the smaller florals, mentioned above.

5. Postcard Menus

Melissa tied in her love for her homestate of Michigan with this decorative touch: Michigan postcards-turned-menu cards, placed at each setting. Clever!

6. Bouquet

The bouquet – arranged by Red Poppy Floral Design – coordinates beautifully with the tablescape.

7. Trail Mix Station

Mix up some fun for your guests with a trail mix station for thematic take-away favors. Melissa adds, “[A trail mix station] is a great alternative to a candy station and is something other than s’mores, and guests can build their own trail mix favors filled in kraft paper bags.” For the trail mix bar, there were pretzels, cashews, peanuts, dried cherries, M&Ms, chocolate chips, and marshmallows. To label the trail mix station, Andi from ElliBell Creative Services created these adorable tents for labeling the ingredients.

8. Vintage Tins

Vintage tins serve as decorative rustic vessels for holding treats at the trail mix bar.

9. Seating Cards and Programs

For seating cards, roasting marshmallows were used…

10. A Tent for the Bride and Groom

And… last but certainly not least is a sweet little tent for the bride and groom! Melissa tells us, “My idea behind the tent was to have a bunch of tents around the campsite for guests to go relax throughout the reception.” What a great idea!

Hello, hello! On Friday, we showed you part one of this incredibly gorgeous DIY Rustic Wedding. Today, we’re proud to reveal part two of Maggie and Stephen’s special day with the First Look, Ceremony, and Reception. And… the bride, Maggie, handcrafted all of the details herself (and she did an incredible job!) If you’re looking for DIY rustic wedding inspiration, today’s feature has it all: a barn reception, mason jar lanterns, chalkboards, a vintage suitcase card box, handmade chair signs, a vintage photo wall, and much more. Read on to reveal Part Two of this gorgeous wedding, beginning with a teary-eyed groom in a candid First Look. Enjoy!

The First Look

Maggie and Stephen decided to do a ‘first look’ and we’re glad they did: check out the groom’s candid reaction!

The ceremony took place at the First Church of Christ in Wethersfield, Connecticut. Purple hydrangeas and white rose petals decorated the aisle-way and guests had the opportunity to get a jump start on signing the guest book upon arrival. (Great idea!)

The Reception

True to its theme, this DIY rustic wedding reception was held at Webb Barn, also in Wethersfield, Connecticut. Guests were greeted with DIY details right from the entry way with cork escort cards, hanging mason jars lanterns, chalkboards, bunting, a card box made out of a vintage suitcase, and more. Maggie made ALL of the DIY rustic wedding details herself, right down to the silhouette cake topper that we love oh-so-much. The happy couple opted for a sweetheart table that featured handmade ‘bride’ and ‘groom’ chair signs.
