If you’re in search of a perfect gift for the bride and groom (or perhaps for your new love nest) you’ll love what we have to show you today! We spotted these incredible handmade custom wedding portraits by Emily’s Portraits, an artist who has always found herself drawn to portraying subjects, even as a kid. She tells us, “Even as a fifth grader, I was creating portraits for a quarter a piece!” How sweet! (Isn’t it amazing how the hobbies you acquire as a kid can continue to stay with you throughout your entire life?) Emily offers a unique artistic approach where she takes approximately 5-10 of your photos and works with the couple to decide the best image, medium, and size for your portrait. We think her work speaks for itself. Take a look…

We’re head over heels for engagement shoots that show off a couple’s chemistry. This Connecticut engagement shoot featuring Tracy and Tom is no exception! Michelle of Michelle Gardella Photography did a beautiful job capturing these two lovebirds throughout many Connecticut hot spots, including an aquarium with some of the sweetest shots we’ve ever seen. Michelle fills us in on some background details of the day. Take it away, Michelle!
“This engagement shoot with Tracy and Tom in Mystic, Connecticut was so much fun! We started at the Mystic Aquarium and one of the beluga whales came right up behind where they were sitting and starting posing for the camera! He even made a kissy face at the glass. We saw jellyfish, sting rays and tons of tropical fish. After a healthy lunch of french fries, onion rings and hot dogs we made our way to the historical Mystic Seaport. This is an incredible outdoor marine time museum filled with character. After exploring the old boats and vintage charm it was off to the center of town for ice cream cones along the shore. This couple loves to laugh and it was a photographer’s dream capturing their chemistry. They are getting married this coming winter (there is a photo set of the numbers 12-10-11 from the buildings around town) and their day is going to be filled with handmade love! Can’t wait!”

We love shoots that give our brides tons of inspiration. This Wilmington bridal shoot is one of them! The bride, MaryEllen, struck poses + looked stunning at The Balcony on Dock Street. This location’s hardwood floors and original brick walls added a charming touch to the imagery. The photographer, Eric Boneske, provided details from the day: “When they offered the room for this bridal session, I jumped at the opportunity. It was exactly what I was thinking… lots of volume, and empty space for us to do whatever we wanted. To help out with details, we brought in the fabulous Kickstand Events ladies, who rocked the style and theme for the shoot. Hot Pink Cake Stand went over the top with the mini-cakes, and Reed’s Jewelers wanted to help with some jewelry to keep with the oyster/pearl theme. A special thanks to Caitlyn from Hypnotix Spalon who was on hand helping with hair, etc. throughout the shoot. Everyone did such a fantastic job, and it shows. Thanks so much to everyone for helping this whole thing come together!” Take a peek at the shoot + additional vendor information below:

We love this beautiful, rustic and natural Ontario engagement shoot by photographer Rosina Di Trolio. Kristina + Jeff (such a beautiful couple!) wanted “natural with a touch of vintage” for their engagement shoot. We think Rosina captured the look perfectly. The photos were taken in St. Thomas Ontario Canada, the Railway Capital of Canada. In fact, the photos on the railroad tracks are a tribute to Jeff’s father and grandfather, both of whom contributed to build the Canadian Railway for many years. The picnic photos were taken at Kettle Creek in St. Thomas. Rosina incorporated an old typewriter and added the love notes. The props and antiques were supplied by Antiques on the Side in St. Thomas Ontario. Read on to see this engagement session as it unfolded…

Happy Friday! With enjoyable sunny weather happening in most places this weekend, we thought we’d preempt this beautiful weekend with a fun outdoor engagement shoot. Phan and Jessica’s Oklahoma engagement shoot fun started with showing off their true colors for Oklahoma State. After proving their loyal fanship to OSU they found themselves riding down country roads occasionally stopping for fun and serious poses. With their fall wedding just six months away, Phan and Jessica worked the chalk board while giving their wedding guests a glimpse at who they are together. Enjoying the spotlight while embracing and hugging they quickly moved to showing off with some quick martial arts moves. After Jessica taught Phan a thing or two, they relaxed with some furry friends. Their photographer and engagement shoot guru Justin from Justin Battenfield Photography did an impressive job capturing Phan and Jessica.
