Have you seen this show on BBC called Sherlock? It’s pretty amazing, in so far as detective shows go. When Lorna Lovecraft took her admiration for the series to a whole new level with a Sherlock inspired wedding shoot, the color palette, bouquets, lace-detailed everything fit right in. But what we loved most was the vintage silhouette cake which totally stole the show. We’ve seen an awesome silhouette wedding cake in the past, but this, um, takes the cake. Read on to see it!

Hi, guys! Emma here, and I have a problem: I’m obsessed with sequins — gold, silver, hot pink, black — you name it, I would embellish with it. Maybe I just like sparkly, shiny things… Glitter. Diamonds. Druzy. Gold foil. (Then again, who doesn’t?) It turns out that sequins — you know, disc-shaped beads used for decoration purposes — originated in France and are used in a wide variety of accessories today including clothing, handbags, hair accessories, and more. What’s even more fascinating, though, is how they’re taking the wedding world by storm. It seems gold sequin wedding ideas are trending the most, with rose gold just one step behind. And, like its trending counterpart — gold foil everything — we know this is one trend that will be sticking around for awhile. Here’s how it starts: you don’t even think you like sequins, but then you discover a tutu-like wedding dress with a gold sequin bodice and think, holy cow, that’s gorgeous. Then you find a few gold sequin garlands, headbands, sashes, sequin trim wrapped invitations… and before you know it, you’re sequining ALL OF THE THINGS. So, take a look at the thirty-plus gold sequin wedding finds we’ve gathered (don’t worry, we’ll do silver, pink, and black in the future, I’m sure), and tell us know what you think of this trend. Sidebar: if you’re planning to incorporate some gold sequin wedding ideas into your Best Day Ever, I recommend moderation — it’s always key, you know. Enjoy!
