Hi, loves! Emma here. When you really think about it, your guests play a huge role in the outcome of your big day. The cake, flowers, colors, themes, ceremony, reception — all of it — are designed with your celebration in mind. Without any guests, where’s the celebration? Family and friends being present to share in your joy is what it’s all about and this article was inspired by a recent Ask Emmaline question that rolled in from bride-to-be, Kelsey. She asks,
Dear Emmaline, I have many guests flying in from out of state to attend my wedding and I want to do something special for them to say thank you. Do you have any ideas?
Great question, Kelsey! Saying thank you is so much more than just a few words. To really show guests how much you appreciate them taking time off of work, traveling, paying for accommodations, getting a sitter, bringing a gift, etc. etc., you can do it all through your actions at your wedding. With a few tips, you can make guests feel welcomed and appreciated from the beginning of the ceremony through the late-night snack and last dance of the reception. A thank you card sent after the wedding is essential, but it isn’t the only way to show your appreciation. Here’s how it’s done…
Hello, hello! Happy Monday! How was your weekend? For me, it was a total transformation of fall to winter. We were hit by the massive snowstorm and had a total of about 8″ of glistening snow which fell steadily for about twenty-four hours. It was so beautiful; the first snowfall always is. The beginning of the snow-filled holiday season always gets me in an instant cozy mood. It doesn’t take long to find me unpacking slippers, fuzzy socks, blankets, and holly jolly decorations faster than you can say hey Em, coffee is ready. (And believe me, I come running.) Anyway, with the frigid temps around here we wanted to warm you up with some hot chocolate favors for weddings, bridal showers, and holiday parties. We’ve found hot cocoa favors on a stick, in a cone, inside an ornament, in a jar, a tube, a bag, and a box. We’ve even found some cute wooden spoons for stirring. So, if it’s hot chocolate favors you’re after, you’ll find it right here! And… if you’re feeling extra creative, head down to number eight for an amazing DIY tutorial we found. Happy hot-chocolating & enjoy!
Wedding favors are undoubtedly one of the most personalized details of your reception. While some couples skip favors altogether, we think they ought to be a necessity. Why? A wedding favor is a small token of your appreciation for guests and thanks them for coming and sharing in your big day. Some favors are very inexpensive to fit any budget; others are more expensive, depending on how custom you’d like them to be. There’s no right or wrong favor to give — it should simply be something you enjoy and would like to receive, too. A favor can tie in your theme or add a little personality to the mix. For instance, a coffee favor would tell guests you’re, like me, quite the coffee obsessed couple. Or, if you’re a serious candy-holic, a candy buffet or bags of a favorite candy (like these in bulk) at each seat would be a way to share your love for sugary treats. You get the idea!

Have you been trying to pick a perfect wedding favor (or bridal shower favor)? One of our go-to ideas is soap. And as simple as it sounds, soap ALWAYS works as a delightful favor for guests. But why, you ask? Here are three reasons why wedding soap favors always work…
3 Reasons Why Soap Favors Always Work
1. Soap favors are functional.
Soap favors are functional — guests will actually use them. People buy soap; people use soap. You’re essentially giving guests something they already want and use.
2. Soap smells nice — plus, it’s compact.
Choosing from dozens of scents is a great way to add your personal taste. Whether you choose a bar of soap or a smaller sample size, it’s easy (and economical) to package for gift-giving.
3. It’s an affordable choice.
Whether you pick full soap bars or smaller samples, soap is a more affordable choice. Plus, you know it’s going to be used, so your favor will be money well spent.
