Detailed & Pretty: Lisa and Seth’s Minnesota Wedding

Lisa and Seth’s Minnesota wedding is absolutely gorgeous. This exciting Minnesota wedding had a heartwarming ceremony at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church followed up by a fun and joyous reception at the Mendakota Country Club. Lisa’s pretty details included her Staccato shoes, her La Sposa Leonor wedding dress, hand-calligraphed place cards, self made flower girl dresses, and feather fascinator by Lo Boheme. Some of the must unique items were the fascinating flower colors enveloped throughout the event and the vintage decor medicine bottles. For fun Lisa and Seth posed for a drink with friends in a western themed saloon, stopped for tasty mini donuts, and rode the stillwater trolley around town. With such beautiful colors, wedding wear, and thoroughly thought out details, Lisa and Seth’s wedding is one of our favorites. Capturing their splendidly pretty wedding was Erin from Erin Johnson Photography. Andrew + Teresa’s Flirtatiously Fun Engagement Shoot

Andrew and Teresa’s fun engagement shoot was recently photographed in Indianola, Iowa. This future bride and groom enjoyed posing for the camera in wide open fields all while enjoying a picnic with wine and cheese. Following their delicious picnic, Andrew strung a few chords on his guitar for Teresa before a full session of fun broke out with Andrew’s two daughters and one large balloon. Their fun engagement shoot photographer was Allison from Allison Marie Photography. Allison being a friend of Teresa was able to listen to her engagement shoot inspiration ideas and capture them perfectly in some beautiful locations including Buxton Park and Lake Ahquabi. See for yourself.

We love hearing from the bride! Read about Teresa’s e-session experience in her own words:

“We were thrilled to book Allison as our photographer; not only because she has been a dear friend to me; but also because she creates such BEAUTIFUL work. Allison has an amazing talent at capturing God’s beauty and light. We knew we wanted a natural and artistic look to our photos, and knew Allison would capture those shots perfectly.

Andrew and I love the outdoors, so we knew we wanted our engagement pictures to reflect that. I started to search for inspiration by searching online for ‘engagement pictures’ and ‘trees’, ‘flowers’, ‘lake’, etc; and then I decided upon my favorites. I sent several of my inspiration photos to Allison, and she found some locations that were similar.

I then took on finding outfits and some props for the photos. I knew I wanted our outfits to match in color scheme, and to be something we would wear out on a fun date. I found a silk khaki jacket that I knew I wanted to wear and I love the color navy, so that inspired one set of outfits. Andrew liked the peach, orange and white, so that inspired our second look. It was fun to mix and match items to come up with the perfect look. We decided to do a picnic with cheese and wine, because Andrew and I both enjoy them; plus it is just a cute theme. We also wanted some pictures to reflect Andrew’s love of music, so we found some sheet music and took some pictures with his guitar. And, we were inspired by an engagement picture that included balloons for our last theme. We found a giant orange balloon; which created some fun awesome pictures.

We were very happy that Allison understood the look we hoped to create and found the ideal locations, immaculate sunlight, and appropriate settings to perfect our engagement pictures. We are excited to see what she does with our upcoming wedding photos!”

We can’t wait to see the wedding photos, too! Thanks to Teresa and Andrew for sharing your day with us and for Allison Marie Photography for the beautiful images.

If you’re looking for more creative photo shoots than you’ll want to check out Allison Marie Photography. Allison is a preferred photographer in The Bridal Book at Emmaline Bride and you may view her listing here.

Carnival Fun: A West Virginia Engagement Shoot

Elephant ears, carnival games, and a giant ferris wheel make for engagement shoot fun. This West Virginia engagement shoot features Scarlet and Frankie strutting their stuff and enjoying the perfect day at the carnival. While Scarlet and Frankie worked the crowd, posing with each other, West Virginia engagement photographer Olivia from Liv Hefner Photography captured their daylong ride of love.

Olivia tells us, “Scarlet and Frankie met in junior high, but it just wasn’t meant to be just yet. Frankie moved away and both went on their separate ways. They remained in touch, and as luck would have it, Frankie came back home. Several years later, Frankie returned and so did the sparks. They haven’t looked back since. Both are acting majors and looking to make it big one day, but for now, they’re content with each other. Their session contained a vintage theme, awesome outfits and a tiny, small town carnival to set the mood. They both have huge personalities and are always up for having some fun. Scarlet joked that “if you count the time they were together in seventh grade, they’ve been together forever.”

“On July 4th, we made our way to the carnival in Parkersburg, WV and had a blast. The weather was characteristically hot for the day, but they were prepared. After waiting in line for tickets and getting a few stares for their fashion forward attire at a carnival, they were off. They rode the Ferris wheel, played carnival games and rocked their vintage clothing choices through the sweltering weather. Scarlet found some great locations and Frankie was more than willing to pick her up, twirl her about, and steal some kisses.”

Jeny and Colby’s Green DIY Wedding

Jeny and Colby’s green DIY wedding features so many beautiful details at the premier Mildale Farms. The details from this Kansas wedding were so well crafted by the bride and groom. Most of the DIY wedding details by the bride included handmade centerpiece boxes covered in green moss and wrapped in deep plum ribbon. Jeny also created green ornamental moss balls of different sizes and scattered them across the tables. You’ll see in the pictures below the beautiful green moss covered monogram hanging above the wedding party table and the two grapevine chandeliers with hanging candles in the center of the room. Other great DIY wedding details include the painted antique windows and an arbor made by the groom for the ceremony. The couple’s love and DIY wedding details were well captured by Kansas wedding photographer Melissa from Melissa Rieke Photography.

The bride Jeny tells us, “Colby and I were both set on an outdoor wedding. We are both very outdoorsy people and wanted a
classy rustic wedding. We first planned to have the wedding at my parents land, but my mom talked me in to looking at a venue called Mildale Farms. When we pulled in to Mildale Farms we knew this it would be the perfect place for our wedding. Mildale Farms is up a long curvy drive to a large brick estate house and then to a small pale yellow cottage, back in the distance a large horse barn with stables and brick paved road that leads the way. One great thing about Mildale Farms was that we were able to rent the venue from Thursday to Monday. We started our so called wedding week on Thursday and were able to stay at the farm until Sunday night. This was great! Family and friends from out of town can to help decorate and join the excitement.

Colby built us an arbor for the ceremony that now sits in our backyard that I absolutely adore. We are very blessed to have such wonderful and talented family and friends. Our photographer, Melissa Rieke is a family friend; we also had my Godmother do all the catering from Jazzy Girls Catering. Last, a friend of our plays acoustical guitar and was able to play the perfect songs for the girls and I to walk down the aisle. Colby’s grandma had passed away recently and the song that reminded him so much of her, and that he loved the music to was “Sissy’s Song” by Alan Jackson. Garin was not able to learn the cords for this, but played the music in the background for my walk down the aisle, and played the guitar to “Remember When” by Alan Jackson for the bridal party. My nephews and niece, whose ages were 3, 2 and 6 months at the time drove down the aisle in a shiny red battery operated sports car. It turned out perfect.

We incorporated a lot of personal things in the wedding and also a lot of DIY wedding ideas! I had so much fun planning and getting ready for our big day. We drove off with the wedding party piled on back of Colby’s 1979 bright blue Ford truck that he loves. The memories that were made that weekend were wonderful. What an amazing time, from figuring out how to get a 6’x8’ arbor to the ceremony, to seeing the buddies drive the car down the aisle and the little one being so tiny you couldn’t even see her in the car.

Having our wedding at Mildale Farms allowed us to do what we love most and that is to cherish our
friends and family, letting them know how truly important they are to us. Our photographer was
able to catch all the details and all to memories and perfect moments of the entire day. I will be able
to go back 20 years from now, look at my pictures and remember how I felt on my wedding night. For that I am forever grateful.”
