Fayetteville Fall Wedding: Blair + Jeremy

This Fayetteville fall wedding was fantastic! Meet Blair and Jeremy. Their Arkansas wedding this past November was at a magnificent venue called The Garden Room. Their wedding has tons of rustic DIY details that are sure to get your handmade heart pumping! Look out for the fabulous details including the bouquet, boutonniere, hanging poms, invitations, and wedding cake. They even devised a great idea of having guests put money into either the bride or groom’s mason jar. The person’s jar with the most, wears the cake! It’s one of neatest ideas we’ve seen at Emmaline Bride. You’ll love their photos captured by Leah from Leah Marie Landers Photography. See them after the click…

Leah tells us, “Blair is the sweetest thing. She has such a calm nature about her. She planned every detail of this wedding in a very short period of time. Jeremy and Blair were friends before they started dating. They now are happily married and live in Fayetteville with their puppy, Annabelle.”

Mississippi Mansion Wedding: Chelsey + Danny

Chelsey and Danny’s Mississippi mansion wedding was beautiful! Their Mississippi wedding this past summer was captured by photographer Kate from Kate Anthony Photography. Kate tells us, Chelsey & Danny were married in Holly Springs, Mississippi at the beautiful Montrose Arboretum. The Greek antebellum mansion was full of history as it was built in 1858 as a wedding present to the builder’s daughter. The mansion sits on a beautiful plot of land that was absolutely breathtaking and features 50 different species of trees. The inside of the mansion was a photographer’s dream come true: tons of beautiful natural lighting, vintage pieces galore, a spiral staircase, and tons of space. I tried to evoke the feeling of timeless romance in these photographs…”

Daniel tells us, “Joe and Claire chose Valleybrook Country Club as their venue of choice for their big day. Although it was New Year’s Eve and it was freezing cold outside, they braved the winds with us like champs. All the elements came out to play with sun and snow, and we have some beautiful photographs to show for it. Everyone was super fun and we had a blast with this wonderful couple!”

Super Cute Utah Engagement: Laci + Mike

This Utah engagement session is super cute! Laci and Mike’s engagement session was this past August in the city of Sandy, Utah. They strolled around a local city park while their photographer Cindee from Cindee Starkie Photography captured their love for one another. Find out how they met and see the photos…

Laci tells us, “We met online, I thought he was super cute with his red beard. He took me to a restaurant and after he said we could do anything so I told him I wanted chocolate cake, mind you it’s midnight… He said “ok, if you want chocolate cake then we will be getting you chocolate cake.” He took me to an all night cafe full of hipsters and got me one of the best pieces of chocolate cake I’ve ever had. He’ll tell you that he knew he liked me when I’d only eat the center out of my cake, it’s the best.”

“He is the first person I want to go to when I have a bad day, he always finds a way to make me feel better. He is a HUGE dork like me. He takes me to all sorts of new places and makes me try new things that I normally wouldn’t. He will surprise me with chocolate just because he knows I’ll love it. He is very good with my family, they tell him all the time how much they love him, especially my niece Ashley… I think to her he’s part uncle, part therapist.”

Michael tells us, “She makes me laugh, she does dorky stuff (no I don’t), she knows how to cheer me up. Our favorite things to do… We have movie time, he is the best popcorn maker in the world. We love to go on walks, the zoo, and long drives. One of our favorite things is to go to Ruth’s diner for breakfast and then take a drive up the canyon. We will sit there and play the name game for children we hope to have one day, I hate to break it to him but we will not be naming our boys ‘Chuck’ and ‘Norris’….”

Their wedding in Round Hill, VA was at the Stoneleigh Golf and Country Club. This wedding’s beautiful details will inspire you and give you insight on how to DIY your special day. April tells us, “Basically everything at the wedding was made by my sisters or friends! Most of the paper items were ideas we found on Pinterest and decided to try out. The paper cranes, paper hearts down the aisle, tissue paper puffs, and the candle decorations are all examples of this. The flower I wore in my hair was made by my sister Lauren’s friend.”

“The salt and pepper shakers favors were inspired for several reasons. I like the saying “we go together like salt and pepper”. The bigger reason behind it though was growing up when my sisters and I left the salt and pepper shakers by our dinner plates, our dad would ask if he could borrow our “personal” salt and pepper shakers. It also turned out that Tom’s grandmother had a wide collection of salt and pepper shakers which we didn’t find until after she passed away.”

“The letters on all the tables are from my mom. She has been collecting them for as long as I can remember and has passed this love of letters as décor onto her girls! I wanted to do something different for the tables, so I asked her to take them down off of her wall and let me use them for a personal touch.”

“I really wanted everything to feel rustic and comfortable. I wanted it to feel like a backyard BBQ but a little nicer! We also had a corn hole game which my brother-in-law Jerry made and my sister Heather painted.”

jan michele photography - Virginia Handmade Wedding

Jan their photographer tells us, “I knew April and Tom were working with a limited budget, and I was so impressed by how much fun April’s family had working together to make their wedding festive and beautiful – and certainly not lacking in personal touches. A wedding is really about the heart behind it, the love and support that comes from family and friends, and this wedding was overflowing.April chose the perfect location, it was scenic, rustic, and child friendly for the nieces and nephews to have a contained space to run – not easy to find only an hour from Washington, DC where Tom and April live. April’s sister, Lauren, designed the wedding invitations. Her sisters, Heather and Kristen, made all the other décor – from the “I spy” game on the tables to the origami crane and tissue flowers to define the sweet heart table space. Using some slices of trees and burlap also really dressed up the tables with rustic texture.

jan michele photography - Virginia Handmade Wedding

jan michele photography - Virginia Handmade Wedding

jan michele photography - Virginia Handmade Wedding

Mason jars with twine and paper hearts made perfect candle holders and tied into the casual country theme and the wedding colors of yellow, gray and navy blue. The paper hearts were used on the candle jars, the escort cards and defined the walk down the isle.
During the ceremony each guest was given a stone to hold. The guests placed their stones along with their well wishes for the couple into a bucket at the conclusion of the ceremony. These stones will be kept by the couple as a reminder of the love and support given to them on their wedding day.
It was also sweet to include precious family memories, like the letters from April’s mom’s wall to designate the tables. The sisters talked about playing wall scrabble with them growing up. Also, the family joke April’s father started with the salt and pepper shakers meant sharing a bit of their family history with guests, and remembering and including April’s Dad in her wedding day.

jan michele photography - Virginia Handmade Wedding

jan michele photography - Virginia Handmade Wedding

Using her parent’s wedding topper was another way to include family history in a day that celebrates the heritage of April and Tom and sends them off to start their own family. The Georgetown Cupcakes (from the TLC show DC Cupcake), are a favorite of April’s and a frequent stop for April and Lauren when they spend time together.”
