Do you love pairing wine and cheese for cocktail parties and fêtes with guests? Want to tie it in to your wedding reception? You’ve come to the right place! We’re even offering a giveaway from Wooden Hive just in time for the holidays! But first… we’ve talked about wine wedding ideas in the past, but wine and cheese wedding inspiration? Now that’s a new one. I don’t know why we’ve never really talked about it; perhaps it’s because this wine and cheese wedding trend is, well, trending.

I mean, it’s not every day you see a cheese wheel wedding cake, you know? Stinky, yes; but does it make a statement? You bet.

At your wedding (or during cocktail hour), you could offer professional grade pairings of wine, cheese, and olives. Here’s a guide to help.

When guests enter the reception space, help them find their seats with escort cards placed in cork holders.

For centerpieces or cute decor touches throughout, try these cute votives: just place a few corks inside a glass votive holder and add a tea light candle on top.

A wine and cheese wedding would look most lovely in a winery setting. How about this gorgeous inspiration?

Gasp. That’s gorgeous.

And it also would require a sit down family style gathering, with cheese and wine flowing like good conversation.

For cocktail hour instead, you could set up a serve-yourself station with cheeses and appetizer plates so guests can sample what they’d like. I love how this is set up on a pair of wine barrels to tie in the theme effortlessly.

Well, we’ve gotta say, our Ask Emmaline inbox is blowing up! We love reading your wedding questions… like this one that comes from bride-to-be, Megan. She writes, “We want to do a unity ceremony at our wedding. Is there more than one type?” Fantastic question! Today we’ll show you three of the most popular unity ceremony ideas and tell you how they work. Let’s begin, shall we?

Unity Ceremony Ideas

The three most popular unity ceremony ideas are the sand ceremony, the unity candle, and the wine ceremony. Each of these unity ceremony ideas are used to show a couple’s partnership and is usually performed after the vows have been read.

1. Sand Ceremony

For a sand ceremony, you’ll need three containers (two the same size, one larger) and sand. At the ceremony, two containers are filled with sand; the larger container in the middle is empty. The bride and groom then pour their containers of sand into the center container to mix the two together as a sign of their unity. This is an especially fitting idea for beach weddings.
