If you’re looking for beautiful flower girl baskets, you won’t want to miss this post! Yesterday we showed you these dresses for your flower girl and today we’re pairing them with beautiful rustic flower girl baskets. I (Emma here!) have been a fan of Jennie’s work at Duryea Place Designs for awhile now, and her newest collection of rustic flower girl baskets has positively stolen my little handmade heart. I’ve hand-selected seven of my favorite rustic baskets to share with you today and I hope you one of these is the perfect find for your ceremony. PLUS, if you love a basket but want a custom color, just ask – Jennie welcomes custom orders! Read on to be inspired…
Rustic Flower Girl Baskets
First up is a beautiful wicker basket featuring a large pink peony. I love the matching pillow, too! (Pillow sold separately.)
This next find is a vintage metal and wicker basket with an ivory English rose.
In the past, we’ve talked about peaches as a wedding favor and readers were asking were to find a quality bushel basket. This one is perfect as a flower girl basket (and afterward to display your peach favors).
This next basket is a floral and wicker style with a golden silk flower and butterfly.
If you prefer a wooden basket, this next one is perfect and features a large burnt orange flower.
This next flower girl basket features wicker and is adorned with a large purple peony.
And, last but not least, this green (somewhere between a dark mint and sage green) wicker basket has a metal handle and a large white peony flower with sheer white ribbons.

Hello, loves! Happy Friday! If you are planning DIY wedding projects for your big day, there are a few secrets to help it go off without a hitch. Today, we’ve compiled five of our favorite DIY weddings secrets that every bride should know to save you a headache down the road. DIY wedding projects can be fun, but they can also be overwhelming, too. And, since holiday break may be an excellent time to get crafting, we are also sharing some of our favorite DIY wedding kits to inspire you. Reveal what you need to know after the jump!
5 DIY Wedding Secrets Every Bride Should Know
1. Know when to DIY – and when to buy.
What’s your DIY skill level? Are you skilled at painting or more sewing inclined? Find your strong suit and complete a project that ties into it. One example of a painting project you may want to undertake could be a DIY wedding cake topper, like this kit by Goose Grease. It comes with paints and wooden dolls so you can give it a go:
However, if your painting skills aren’t up to par – and you have a specific look in mind – it may be better to have a custom topper made. (This one is also by Goose Grease.)
2. Know WHERE to buy (+ how to save money).
It’s also important to know where to buy your DIY wedding supplies. Yesterday, we talked about mason jar mistakes to avoid and how buying in bulk can save you money. This also applies to any supply item you can think of, as long as you’re sure it’s the item you want (or you’ll have a headache trying to return and find the right item). One place you can order online is Amazon, which offers any craft item you can think of (and many in bulk). I’ve purchased these muslin spice bags in a pack of 100 and stamped them to make my own favors. I’ve also ordered mason jars in bulk to save money – and avoid the hassle of lugging 50+ mason jars home. You can also check Hobby Lobby online (their online store is amazing) to place an order or see what’s in store; then, print the 40% off coupon and bring it with you to buy. Look for coupons from Michaels and JoAnn to save you money, too, and make an effort to buy items only when you have a coupon.
If you’re looking for handmade details, check out The Marketplace to snag tags, envelope seals, blank place cards, and more. For instance, round scalloped paper tags from The Kraft Room can be an excellent canvas onto which you can print guests’ names, attach to twine with clothespins, and use as an escort card display at your wedding.
Or, add a custom detail to your favors with kraft bunting stickers (also from The Kraft Room):
Some artisans are willing to share their craft with you in a DIY wedding kit. One example is The Crimson Poppy who makes a DIY paper flower kit you can make at home.
And, here’s the result:
3. Pace yourself.
It goes without saying that even if you want to DIY every aspect of your wedding, you need to pace yourself. Give yourself plenty of time to buy supplies, create your crafting space, and complete projects before moving onto the next one. Few things would be more stressful than waiting until a few days before the wedding to complete a dozen crafts. And, the crafts should be fun – not stressful!
4. Call in your crew to help.
Don’t go at it alone! Your crew – you know, fiance, MOH, bridesmaids, mom – are there to support and help you. Just ask! I’m sure if they’re special enough to be in your wedding, they’re nice enough to lend a hand. But, they can’t help if you don’t ask – so, ask, ask away! (And reward them with plenty of food, drinks, and make it fun.)
5. If you don’t like it, scrap it.
Last but not least, if you work on a DIY wedding craft and it’s not going as planned (which will undoubtedly happen), scrap it. Start over. Or, move onto something else. If you don’t like how something looks, don’t settle because you spent time on it; move on and craft something you’ll love and of which you’ll be proud.
