Wedding Inspiration: Escort Cards, Mis-Matched Bridesmaids + Handmade Details!

Happy Monday, lovelies! I hope you’re geared up for another week full of wedding inspiration… we’re chock full of handmade goodness and we can’t wait to share it with you! But first…
… How was your weekend? This afternoon, I had the pleasure of meeting my best girlfriend for coffee to discuss her upcoming July wedding. It is going to be such a beautiful event held near a lake at a garden, complete with a bed and breakfast on site (one of those knock-your-socks-off kind of places with intricate details, creaky stairs and the most beautiful vintage details), a sweet little brick-paved garden path, tons of flowers, cute little tables with umbrellas… and, she’s making her own cake (you go, girl). She is a talented baker who makes the. most. incredible. cakes. ever. And, they taste even better than they look, which is, in a word, amazing. Ah, wedding season.
So.. on to this morning’s post! I spotted this real wedding and I am smitten with the sweet saffron + charming details. The images are by You Look Nice Today Photography, who did an exception job capturing each detail perfectly (by the by, check out their site – GORGEOUS). And, this is the perfect time to reiterate how important it is (especially with handcrafted, detail-rich events) to have a skilled photographer who will capture each detail. You worked hard to make your wedding memorable, so make sure your photos showcase your endeavors!
Now, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty: the bride and groom, Alivia and Scott, did an amazing job on the decor. The bridesmaids wore yellow mis-matched dresses which they picked out themselves (adorable) and Alivia handmade the headbands. The groomsmen wore gray suits with yellow ties to match the ladies (and, the tree on their wedding invitations!) See the hutch below? This was handmade by a friend and used as an entrance door for the ceremony (clever) with their initials inscribed above the door. The bride and groom’s baby pictures lined the window sill to show to guests entering the site. My favorite detail has to be the escort cards and the large monogram letters. The presentation was done perfectly! And, the ceremony programs featured hand-drawn pictures of the bridal party along with a scavenger hunt of items that could be found throughout the reception. And, to top it off? Tons of handmade pie! ♥

We have another fab post coming later this afternoon, so stay tuned!

I love every detail! I especially like the groom’s tie with the tree print on it. A great tie-in to the invitations. Each picture is prettier than the last :)

Great observation! They did such a nice job cohesively planning each aspect. I think the programs are neat, too – bridal party bios + a scavenger hunt? Fun! -E.

Hi Alicia! Oh, I know – the hutch? So beautiful! Apparently a friend inscribed the initials on it as a surprise to the bride + groom. :) -E.
