Here’s a wedding trend we’re following – and loving – at the moment: braided hairstyles! Last week, we shared with you a beautiful fishtail braid (with a fishtail braid video tutorial) and we received some lovely feedback from you, our readers. So, we’ve decided to up the ante a bit. Instead of one braided style, how about twenty braided hairstyles? We had SO much fun pulling this post together. I admittedly tried out a few (or seven?) hairstyles myself now that my hair is long enough. Trying to braid again after years was weird at first, but then it all came back to me just like riding a bike. :) I’m happy braids are making their way into the wedding world – I love their simple, chic sophistication – but I’m not convinced they ever truly went out of style. I think braids are always stylish!
We’d love to hear your thoughts on the braided hairstyles so please view the round-up below and comment with your favorite #. And… if you decide to try out a style (or, twelve) please do send us the images as we’d love to feature them in an upcoming post as part of our series. (Please send them to us here – we can’t wait to see your cute coifs!) We hope you enjoy our round-up featuring twenty of our favorite braided hairstyles fit for the bride!
And… a round-up of hairstyles isn’t complete without at least one DIY idea! We love this DIY Boho Tutorial from The Beauty Department:
one (photo credit) – two – three – four – five – six – seven – eight – nine – ten (photo credit) – eleven – twelve – thirteen (photo credit) – fourteen – fifteen – sixteen – seventeen – eighteen – nineteen – twenty
Lovelies – don’t forget to comment below with your favorite # – and be sure to send us your photos!

Some great ideas here. We’ve also started using pintrest to find some more great ideas like this.
is there a photo of the front of #5?
number 14! it’s great, i would totally wear it!
Love number 17!!!! Would totally do in my hair, if only there was a step-by-step tutorial on how-to. :) Great post by the way.
Wow these are amazing! I have started going a bit braid crazy myself! Great inspiration here!
i love number fourteen!
but im absolutely hair challenged, is there anyway i can find directions on how to do that syle?
Try searching on You Tube under “how to do a ribbon braid”. There are so many tutorials to choose from, so you can select which fits best for you. Once you get the ribbon braiding part down, I think you’d be able to apply it to the look in number fourteen.
Hope it helps!
Fabulosity! I have serious “long-hair” envy!!
What the font you’ve used on the pictures?
I love this post! I keep coming back to it :) Quick question, what font did you use on the images? I loves it ;)
It’s so funny, I just did a braid post and tutorial the other day. Braids must be popular :)
five and sixteen
Oh so Beautiful! I would have a hard time choosing between number 3 and number 19!!! I love wearing braids but have never managed to get a proper crown braid going on!! will have to try again…
I love number 18!! A handsdown must-try! I will keep you posted on my hair adventures this weekend! Now I want to see some of your hairdo photos! :) Such a great post!!
LOVE this!!! I especially love 3, 5, & 18.
Thanks for the comments everyone! We’re glad you liked the round-up. :) I (Emma here!) recently grew my hair out, but I always had it short in past years… I’m happy to finally try some of these styles in my hair! If you try them at home, send us the photos – we’d love to do a follow up post.
Why did I cut my hair again?
I know.. I finally grew mine out again and I had that sudden should I or shouldn’t I cut it debate… I’m going to keep growing it, my hair has always been short. :) we shall see!
I’m really loving braids right now. I just need my hair to get a little longer so I can experiment!
Once it is, try a few and please send some photos! We would love to get a huge roundup of our readers’ styles! :) Thanks for stopping by!
