Hello, hello! Happy Monday! Emma here and today we’re fielding one of my favorite questions which came in to our Ask Emmaline inbox on Thursday. Anna asks,
[su_quote cite=”Anna”]I found my dress and now I want to find the perfect shoes. Do you have any tips on what kind of wedding shoes I should wear? Does the bride have to wear a particular color or style? I’m worried my favorite pair won’t be “bridal” enough. Thanks![/su_quote]
Great question, Anna! When it comes to wedding shoes, the beautiful part is… you can wear ANY kind of shoes you want. That means you can wear a pair of white or ivory heels, a pair of blue stilettos, purple pumps, hot pink slingbacks, flip flops, cowboy boots (ah, check out these!), sandals, high tops, red heels, etc. There are no rules when it comes to wedding shoes — essentially, as long as you love them and they show off your personal style, they’ll work just fine! And you might want to also make sure they’re super comfortable, too.
You mentioned wanting a pair of heels that you already own but don’t feel “bridal” enough. If you’re worried they lack a certain bridal-inspired quality, have them embellished, like so:
Rebecca from Becca and Louise embellishes beautiful pairs of heels and flats for brides. She will also accept your favorite pair of heels, embellish them with lace for you in her studio, and then send them back to you! Here are some examples of her beautiful work:
She also has an extensive collection of heels ready-to-embellish for you, like this “something blue” pair called The Camille:
Or sparkly glitter shoes:
Or these something blue pumps with a little black bow:
Rustic bride? Try a pair of cowboy boots in a variety of styles and colors to choose from by Ariat. This pair has a little something blue in the liner:
If you don’t want to wear a heel or a boot, try a flat, like these lace-embellished flats from Walkin On Air:
If you’re more of a beach-loving bride, skip the shoes and opt for ‘barefoot sandals’. They look like shoes, but the bottoms of your feet are free to feel the sand! By Forever Soles.
Or sandals that leave an impression in the sand, like these fun ones:
See? There are so many different styles to choose from, and the choice is up to you! You can see more wedding shoe ideas here.
Hope it helps!
