How to Avoid Tan Lines
Don’t invest in a brand new strapless bathing suit if it’s not your style. And, don’t sacrifice the beautiful sunny weather and opportunity to de-stress on the beach with a good book. Instead, save the extra cash and opt instead for an inexpensive alternative. Introducing… Bikini Bands, your tan line’s enemy (and your beach bag’s new best friend) – under $6. If you like to read at the beach, sit up while you apply sunscreen, maybe even play in the sand… this is the product for you. On their website, Bikini Bands promises its customers to, “Go strapless – poolside and at the beach”, and claims the product, “keeps your top in place while you tan with your straps untied”. Most surprising, it says you can, “Be active: everything stays in place.” When Cassandra Oryl of Bikini Bands reached out to us – a bride-to-be herself – she said she wanted a product that would prevent tan lines. So, her friend Jeff made it happen! I was intrigued by the business idea and decided to try out this unique product myself.
You can untie your suit and still move around – covered! – and prevent tan lines. Awesome.
So… Does It Work?
Ah, the million dollar question. Honestly, I’m always a little bit skeptical with new products. But, turns out that everything this little band promised came true! The Bikini Bands arrived in a pink drawstring bag and is fairly straightforward: the product is a clear plastic rubber band with a pink adjustable element on the end. (Note: As with pretty much everything on the planet, please keep away from kids and animals.) All you do is slip the band over your bikini top, tighten, and untie your straps (or loosen your tank top straps). This means ANY top with straps is now strapless! It’s fully adjustable, comfortable, and fits in your purse or beach bag. I’m amazed – Bikini Bands really does prevent tan lines easily! (Why didn’t someone think of this sooner?) Now it’s a permanent addition to my beach bag.
