I adore rustic wedding decor. In fact, I’ve been eying it up even more than usual. Obviously it is because a.) I’m so ready for winter to bid adieu, and b.) there’s a little bit of country in this girl. I dream of someday owning an old farm house with a red barn where I would throw tons of parties. I find this incredibly hilarious because I recall when I was younger, driving through “the country” with my mom and dad. I spotted nothing but fields, barns, two-lane highways, cows, horses, tractors and, to be honest, not much else. I said to my mom, “Why on earth would anyone live in the country? There’s nothing to do here! I will NEVER live anywhere but a big city.” It’s funny how quickly things change when you get older and realize the joys in life are the simplest things: swinging on a tire swing, sipping on lemonade on the front porch, riding horses in a stable, and the aforementioned barn party reference. I’m a true city girl myself, but I do enjoy getting out in the clear skies of the country once in awhile. I guess it’s true what they say… you can take the city out of the girl but you can’t take the girl out of the city. Heels. Must. have. heels.
But, I digress…. I think it’s fair to say that for every post there’s an item that sparks the creativity fires. For this post, the proof is in the pencils. These pencils are simply tiny twigs wrapped in vintage doilies and tied together with leather. An easy concept which adds functional decor to your guest book table. Who knew doilies could be so versatile? Goodbye girlie, hello woods{wo}man:
So, after spotting these lovelies at Raemj‘s store, I continued to discover a plethora of vintage finds including spools, handkerchiefs, place cards, heart tags, and more. Enjoy!
More soon!

This shop is filled with cuteness! I am pretty obsessed with rustic details myself. The twig pencils + doilies are an amazing combo…wish I would have thought of it :)
I know, Raemj is on my new bookmark list for sure. So much to love – in fact, I knew you’d love the spools. They made me think of you. I wish I thought of the twig pencil + doily combo, too. So simple and unique!
