We’re continuing the rustic wedding inspiration today with this unique rustic wedding menu. I wish I had an old wooden door laying around like this one, but like most people I do not. However, if you are lucky enough to have an old farmhouse wooden door readily available, there is no reason you can’t make this a definite go in the DIY department…

If you lack the necessary supplies, pencil in a date this Saturday afternoon to revisit your favorite thrift shops, garage sales, or estate sales near you. Search for a wooden door you LOVE – the shabbier, the better – and turn it into a rustic wedding menu masterpiece as shown. I think this door would also look pretty amazing with a distressed, white + shabby chic look. There’s some amazing shabby chic ivory paint I’ve found to refinish my bedroom dresser and give it a distressed look. It’s pretty amazing stuff. Anyways… I love this menu idea because it utilizes both decor and functionality. As a decorative piece, it is a rustic chic wedding gem. As a functional piece, it is a chalkboard menu for your wedding reception which can be reused later in your love nest, backyard, or in your garage. Paint the top portion with chalkboard paint, add some flowers, and voila!
