DIY Window Seating Charts

If you’re looking to craft your own, the tricky part will be finding the perfect window pane to use. Search estate sales or garage sales in your area to find an old, weathered window pane. People who know of their popularity will have them for sale; those who don’t will likely throw them to the curb at trash day, so keep your eyes peeled then, too. Also refer to EBay or Craigslist for people selling theirs. Or, if you or your fiancee is super crafty, you can make your own using wood and window glass. Once you have your window pane, you’ll want to use this kit by Rustoleum which can turn pretty much anything into a shabby chic masterpiece. (I have big plans for my dresser using this very same kit. And my mirror. Desk. Coffee table. You get the idea.) To make the names outlast smudging or rubbing off before the big day, we recommend metallic sharpie markers. However, if you’re planning on reusing the panes later, these washable markers by Crayola would work best – and, they’re specially designed for use on glass.
