For most of us, Saturday was an ordinary day, filled with typical weekend errands like lawn mowing or laundry or grocery shopping or paying bills. But for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle — known officially now as The Duke and Duchess of Sussex — it was an extraordinary wedding day that was memorable from start to finish.
And if you weren’t invited, you could always sip your cuppa with a commemorative mug. This one is our fave and it was spotted at Emma Kaufmann.

Top 10 Details: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Tie the Knot
10. The Dress(es!)
Fit for a princess! One of the most-asked question about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wedding details was — you guessed it — the dress! Meghan’s wedding dress was designed by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy; her reception dress featured a halter style and was designed by Stella McCartney. Yay for female designers on both!
Let’s get another look at the wedding dress because holy cow, it was stunning. The reception dress was, too, but this classic look for the daytime wedding was spot-on and looked great on Meghan.
9. The Kids and The Dukes
The page boys and flower girls at the wedding stole hearts from well-wishers around the globe.
And in case you missed it, see Princess Charlotte with her perfected wave! Nailed it.
Here’s another snapshot!
This is one of my favorite moments of the pre-wedding: the brothers. Prince Harry and his brother (and best man), The Duke of Cambridge, met to walk together to the wedding and it was a beautiful moment to see.
8. The Ceremony
My goodness, what a stunning ceremony! I loved those black and white tiles as contrast. What an exceptional ceremony space.
7. The Favors
Thought you had it tough picking out the best wedding favors for 100+ guests? Imagine picking out wedding favors for over over 2,400 guests! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle selected these wedding welcome bags as take-home favors for guests.

These delightful printed burlap tote bags with handles feature the monograms of the happy couple, the wedding location, date, and gifts inside. Business Insider reports these highly-sought-after Royal Wedding favors include the following gifts.
Here’s what’s inside the Royal Wedding favor bags:
o a large gold chocolate coin embossed with Meghan and Harry’s initials
o a commemorative shortbread (I’m sure it was as delicious as these)
o a fridge magnet (see? even Royals love magnet favors!)
o a bottle of water (gotta stay hydrated)
o a voucher for 20% off the Middle Ward gift shop in Windsor
These gifts were placed inside monogrammed tote bags (like this).
In addition to wedding guests in attendance, more than 2,400 lucky locals were also selected to receive these Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wedding favor bags.
6. The Bouquet
The bouquet included some flowers that were HAND-PICKED by Prince Harry himself from Kensington Palace’s private garden. In it, Forget-Me-Nots were included as a nod to Princess Diana (as they were said to be a favorite of hers).
5. The Cake
Here’s your first glimpse at the cake, made by Claire Ptak of Violet Cakes in London. According to Claire, the highly-coveted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wedding cake is made of, “lemon sponge, it has an elderflower syrup drizzle on the sponge,” she says. She continues: “It has an Amalfi lemon curd, and then it has a Swiss meringue buttercream with elderflower.”
The flowers atop the cake made for an elegant cake topper.
4. The Carriage Ride
This was one of the most magical moments of the day — a carriage ride for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
3. The Something Blue
2. The Sweet Gesture to Princess Diana
One of the tear-jerking moments of the day was when we noticed a seat saved for Princess Diana during the ceremony. Saving a special seat is one of the most beautiful ways to remember and honor a lost loved one at your wedding.
1. The Prince Harry and Meghan Markle You Look Amazing GIF
This is probably one of the most-searched GIFs right now on the internet, tbh. So so sweet.
And can we just talk about the envious getaway car they took to their night reception in her reception dress?! And how glamorous they both looked? These two are style goals.
Here’s a video from Kensington Palace of them departing in said sports car.
Bonus: Bridesmaid Gifts
And in case you’re wondering, we heard Meghan gave her bridesmaids quite the amazing gifts. In addition to Givenchy dresses (with pockets!) and personalized footwear, Meghan also gifted keepsake jewelry from Zofia Day Co. We don’t think this bracelet will last long after high demand from the Royal Wedding, but Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wanted to give bridesmaids something they’ll cherish forever so they chose this bracelet ($450) named Kensington for each bridesmaid as a gift, engraved.
