One of our favorite rustic wedding details is the use of re-purposed doors as ceremony backdrops or decor. The more weathered they are, the better! To prove that ceremony backdrops are a beautiful DIY idea, we’ve rounded up fourteen of our favorite examples. Some of these are ceremony backdrops, while others are aisle-way doors designed for the bride to make a true grand entrance — even outdoors! Get ready to break out the hammer + nails: you’re going to be on the lookout for castaway doors to re-purpose after this post! I know I am, if even just for a patio backdrop. ;) Enjoy!

P.S. Need to find doors for your project? This is a great place to start for vintage doors and hardware or Ebay. Another great place to check? estate sales near you.

Rustic Chic Michigan Wedding: See Ashley + Jonah’s Wedding!

Here’s a beautiful rustic chic Michigan wedding you won’t want to miss! Ashley and Jonah tied the knot earlier this year at the Lawton Heritage Community Center. Their wedding had some amazing details all captured by Chelsea from Chelsea Brown Photography. Before you see the photographs the bride Ashley tells us, “The best part of our wedding day was focusing on the fact that we were getting married, because that is the most important part of the day! There is no need to worry about things going wrong on your wedding day, because at the end of the day you get to marry your best friend, and that will last far beyond all the decorations, flowers, and food. Our all cobblestone venue really inspired our rustic chic design for our wedding.” Click to see the photos…

Kitchen Bridal Shower Invitations + Ideas – Ask EB

by lucy loves paper

We love hearing from our brides… and their moms, too! When Susan wrote to us about her daughter’s bridal shower, we swooped right in with inspiration. She’s planning a kitchen themed bridal shower, but was having trouble finding the perfect invites with a more modern feel. To help, we found kitchen bridal shower invitations with matching recipe cards for guests to fill out and bring to the party. Once we found those, it was easy to piece together some additional ideas. Check out the invitations by Lucy Loves Paper and see what else we found including a state cutting board, apron, personalized rolling pin (ahh, I want one of these), a recipe box, cookbook, and favors. Which of these finds do you love best? Besides those invites, I’m crazy over that apron… it’s darling!
