If you are planning to host a wedding weekend with multiple events, listen up! These are the cards you’ll want to use to do it right. In this blog post, I’ll show you how to invite guests to multiple events during your wedding weekend with a little secret called the multiple-event RSVP card. It’s like a regular rsvp card – but better. :) Read on to see why it’s an ideal asset to have in your wedding invitation suite.
How to Invite Your Guests to Wedding Weekend Events + Parties
If you want to invite guests to your wedding along with other events – like a welcome dinner – you should use a multiple RSVP card. This type of card makes it easier than ever to include your guests at things such as (but not limited to):
• Welcome Party
Families sometimes like to host a welcome party the evening before the wedding, particularly if it is a destination wedding or many guests will be traveling. It’s a nice way to get everyone together and welcome your guests and share in a meal.
• Ceremony
The ceremony doesn’t necessarily need to have an RSVP, but if you have limited seating or want to know who plans to attend, you can include a response line for it on the card.
• Cocktail Hour
Most guests go directly from the ceremony to cocktail hour, then the reception. However, for an accurate headcount, you can ask guests to RSVP to the cocktail hour on this type of card. Then you’ll know how many hor d’oeuvres and drinks to serve.
• Reception
As most guests will attend the reception, it’s a good idea to have this line included on your RSVP card for an accurate headcount. I think this is the most important RSVP to include, since you’ll need to know how many guests will attend, where to seat them, and how many meals and drinks you’ll need to have.
• Day-After Brunch
Lastly, if you’re planning a brunch the day after the wedding, you can include an RSVP line for estimating the number of guests. Some family and friends may stick around and attend, while others may need to catch a plane or head back home. This way, you’ll know how many to expect in attendance.
Why You Want an Accurate Headcount for Wedding Events
If you want to know who is coming to the party, a RSVP card is essential. It is important to know how many family and friends will be joining you to plan for food, drinks, and ample space at the venue. Without knowing, I can imagine putting in a large order for food and having too much leftover. On the other hand, I can also see expecting fewer guests to attend and then running out of food or having guests without seats. Yikes!
By planning ahead and utilizing a multiple-event RSVP card, you’ll know plenty of time in advance who expects to make it to one or many of your scheduled celebrations.

Tips for Success with Your RSVP Cards
To make the best multiple-event RSVP cards possible, follow these simple tips:
Include the time and date for each event on the card.
This will ensure guests know when each celebration is set to take place.
Be sure to choose a meal choice option, if needed.
To ensure you don’t have to send multiple cards, be sure to choose a wedding rsvp card for multiple events WITH a meal option. Here’s one example:
Be sure to send multiple RSVP cards ONLY to guests invited to each one.
Most likely, all guests on your guest list are invited to every event on the card. However, you will want to make different RSVP cards if you include certain events like the rehearsal dinner, where only select guests are invited. You wouldn’t want to make an accidental faux pas by sending out invitations to events where not all guests are invited.
Include each event on the wedding website.
In addition to the multiple event RSVP cards, be sure to include the same details on your wedding website for guests to refer to if needed. It is also helpful to include the address for each venue (under your ‘Events’ tab).
I hope this helps as you plan your incredible wedding weekend! These cards are such a great idea when you’re working with multiple events. It’s so much easier than just wondering if guests will attend. It can be wasteful if you plan ahead for many guests, only to have leftover food and drinks with only a handful in attendance. Moreover, planning for fewer guests and then running out of space in the venue or not having enough food can be an utter disaster. Therefore, I think using multiple-event cards like these is a brilliant way to plan for the proper amount of guests.
