We know that you spend (or will spend) a ton of time and money on flowers for your wedding. So why let them go by the wayside once you reach the reception? Today we’re answering a wedding advice question that comes from Victoria, who asks:
Where am I supposed to put my bouquet during the reception?
Where to Put Your Bouquet During the Reception
Great question! Since some guests will want to see your bouquet up close AND you’ve spent plenty of money on it, you might as well show it off in a pretty place. That’s why we think having vases or jars at-the-ready once you reach the reception is a fantastic idea. And while making sure your bouquet looks great and lasts all night is a bonus, it’s not the only reason we love having vases set aside. Here’s two more reasons it makes total sense:
1.) You’ll be able to use your bouquets as additional reception decor
Your bouquet and bridesmaid bouquets will add a ton of additional color and texture to your head table. This will save you a ton of money in additional flower decor for the table itself.
2.) You’ll have more room at your place setting to enjoy dinner and chat with guests
Guests will be coming up to say hi, you’ll be enjoying a glass of champagne, and you’ll want enough room for dinner. A head table or sweetheart table are usually not that big to begin with, so you will have a special spot set aside for more room.
One of our favorite places to hold your bouquet is in a painted mason jar because it doubles as home decor after the big day. These painted mason jars (in the images above and below) are hand-painted by Beach Blues. Missy is awesome: she’s the original maker of painted mason jars on Etsy and she does incredible work. Plus, she has jars to match any wedding color palette.
You can find out more about these jars here.
