The bohemian wedding inspo continues! This question came in last week from Ashley who wants to know a very specific question: what am I supposed to give as boho party favors? More specifically, she wants to know about macrame wedding favors. We did some digging and you may be surprised what we found. But first, here’s what she writes:
“Hi Emmaline Bride, I’m planning a September wedding and it’s boho chic themed and a little bit rustic. I have NO idea what to give as favors. I want it to be themed somewhat but I’m lost. Any ideas? I am using some macrame in my decor (my backdrop and chair decorations so far). Any ideas? Thanks!”
Great question, Ashley! When I first thought about macrame, I honestly had no idea. I mean, I’m always open to a good challenge and I love macrame, but the first thing I always picture when someone says macrame is a backdrop… and backdrops can really be expensive and they aren’t, ya know, suitable as favors. The other thing I think of is these hanging plant holders. Also not really a wedding “favor”. :)
So then I thought about mason jar covers made of macrame, which would work great if you were giving out mason jar lanterns as favors. But that’s a whole can of worms and requires a bunch of additional things — jars in bulk, candles inside, sand, rocks, wire for hanging them up — and if you’re game, great. But we really wanted to find something very specific that fit the bill of macrame wedding favors.
So, here’s what we found: keychains. Yes, macrame wedding favors that are actual keychains.
