The bride has a dress hanger for displaying her wedding gown, but what about the groom? Doesn’t his suit and coat deserve a spot in the wedding photos, too? But seriously, a question came in to our Ask Emmaline message box from Liz, a bride who wants to know about the whole dress hanger craze, and why the groom hanger is no where to be found in it. She writes,
“Hi Emmaline, I’m not sure if you already covered this but I want to know why there aren’t any cool groom hangers. I see so many bride hangers or dress hangers for bridesmaids, but nothing for the groom. I have a hanger for my wedding dress and want one alongside my fiancé’s suit for our wedding photos. Do they not exist? Or is this just a lame idea I have (and if so please just ignore this, lol.) Thanks.”
Hi Liz! First of all, not a lame idea at all. It totally see your point. It has occurred to me before (re: no groom hangers), but that’s because I wondered what to do if the bride wants her dress photographed alongside the groom’s tux, but it looks off because his suit doesn’t have a hanger. Not a huge problem, but it crossed my mind once. (And of course, you don’t have to include a hanger in photos, but some people like to.) I guess when we looked into it, we never found a cool-enough groom hanger to share with you guys. And then when your question came in a few weeks ago, I browsed again… and long story short, TA-DA! The folks over at ScissorMill did it! Take a look at the personalized groom hanger we found in their shop. It’s perfect. Enjoy!
Personalized Groom Hanger
We should have known that, if anyone could do it, then Sara and Erik of ScissorMill could turn a boring item like a plain wood hanger and transform it into a keepsake gift for the groom. I mean, what could you do to make it look gift-able? Enter the secret weapon: laser etching. By hand. One by one. And that means each personalized groom hanger is completely one-of-a-kind and made just for him. It honestly doesn’t get any better than that. Each hanger measures 8.5″ high by 17″ wide, is made of solid wood, has strap hooks, a wood cross bar across the bottom (or an alternative style without the wood cross bar and has a pants hanger instead). Each one is laser-engraved. Best of all: it says “Suit Up” engraved into the wood with his name. Sweet.
This hanger really makes a great gift for groom the morning of the wedding.
You can get a suit hangers for groomsmen, too!
And of course, bridesmaids hangers made with the same cool etching:
