If you’re displaying desserts at your wedding or bridal shower, don’t miss this post! We’re showing you four clever tips for displaying desserts like a pro PLUS we’re revealing one huge mistake you’re probably making. Read on to find out what it is!
How to Display Desserts at a Wedding
When you display desserts at a wedding or party, there are four important tips to remember:
1. Include a variety of treats.
The most memorable dessert tables are those that offer a variety of treats. Instead of sticking to one, offer two or more grab-and-go treats like cake pops, cupcakes, mini doughnuts, macarons, or cookies. You can also display different flavors of one treat for a pop of color.
If you’re offering a variety of desserts, including a menu. The more colorful, the better! This menu sign is by Z Create Design.
Don’t forget mini plates and napkins, too.
2. Display desserts in a prominent location.
Your dessert bar should be placed in a prominent location. A large table, for instance, will draw attention to guests. Place the table in a well-lit location near the bar for the best traffic. Be sure to cover the table with linens that coordinate with your decor.
3. Add a banner or a sign to draw attention.
Guests will be drawn right in if you add a decorative banner that describes what it is. ‘Desserts’, ‘Sweet Treats’, or ‘Love Is Sweet’ are just a few examples that work every single time. This sign is adorable (from ZCreateDesign).

4. Dessert Stands
Don’t make the mistake of omitting dessert stands! When you’re creating a dessert table, one of the most important things you can do is add dimension. If you are offering cake pops on display, for instance, placing them on plates across the table will look flat.
If you raise them using dessert stands, however, you’ll create visual interest which will be more appealing to guests. A dessert stand can be one, two, or three-tiered, depending on how many treats you’d like to display at once. You can get sturdy and beautiful cupcake stands (which work great for a variety of desserts) from ZenaidasDesigns.
One-tiered dessert stands (a single plate set atop a base) are easy to use and look great when grouped together. Consider a few stands in one height, along with a few that are taller and shorter to create a visually appealing display bar. Like a pro, we say! Just add cake pops, cookies, cupcakes, donuts, or other delicious sweets.
