We thank featured photographer Tracey Buyce, from Tracey Buyce Photography based out of Saratoga Springs, NY for giving us the opportunity to see the special wedding destination of Jessica and Stuart.
Wedding Date: 9-6-9
Ceremony Location: The Historic Barns at Nipmoose, Buskirk, NY
Jessica tells us,
“Barns are considered to some as the cathedrals of rural, Upstate New York, and therefore we couldn’t have found a more fitting place with a more spectacular view to say our vows. We both have a farm background and we both appreciate anything old. These barns were the culmination of everything we hold true to our hearts. The landscape on your way to the barns, the view from the hill that the barns sit on, and stillness that surrounds them makes you feel like you’re the only one around. This was truly a very special wedding destination that enabled us to share our love and our passion in a unique and intimate setting.
Design theme/concept:
We didn’t have any intentions to have a theme, but after picking the date (the Sunday of Labor Day weekend) and finding the perfect old truck to drive up to the wedding (which has always been a dream of mine) it just clicked – to use a “Sunday Drive” as the theme of our wedding. As you will read in our story, we almost always go for a Sunday drive. We both grew up in farm families where our parents didn’t have time to get away very often, so we both grew up taking Sunday drives with our families. When we started dating, we quickly realized our common pastime and really enjoyed the time we had on our Sunday drives to talk to each other and get to know one another, or simply listen to the radio and enjoy the quiet moments of our conversations. Today, we continue to take a Sunday drive, often popping in on friends unannounced, finding a new ice cream stand or antique store, or enjoying the thrill of getting lost and finding our way back home.”
Tracey says,
“Jess and Stuart chose to see each other before the ceremony, this was the most perfect spot for their first siting…
Both of Jess’s grandmother’s walked her down the aisle.
Jess’s has been best friends with her maid of honor, Jennifer, for 30 years. Her speech brought Jess to tears, it was really beautiful…”
Corn + wedding rings= :)
