What is one of your favorite gifts?
When I consider any tangible gifts I have received over time, two of them are pieces of art.
Artwork on your walls really brings your space together and give that sense of home, no matter where you are.
When we moved a few years ago, it didn’t feel like home until our artwork was onto our new walls. Luckily, art pieces travel easily with you, and favorite portraits can become long-lasting keepsakes to enjoy throughout one’s lifetime.
Two art pieces in particular come to mind. The first is a beautiful oil portrait Andrew and I received as a gift years ago, hand-painted by an artist.
The custom oil painting depicts us standing in front of a stained glass window pane at our ceremony, so the color is rich and vibrant. The photo was captured just moments after we were officially married. It is displayed in our bedroom and I smile whenever I see it. It is one of the art pieces that especially catches our baby’s attention, whom I often see staring it in the morning when the sun seems to bounce the rich colors from the stained glass background onto the wall.
The second is a sketch, which was done in pencil by a dear friend of mine. She is an amazing artist and used a favorite photo she had, sketched it out, and framed it as a gift when I stood up as the Maid of Honor in her wedding. I love both the oil portrait and sketch, and feel blessed to have received such treasured gifts.
As illustrated in these two examples, a painting from a photo makes an exceptional gift that will make the recipient’s space feel like home.
It is the artwork they’ll gaze upon and travel with, wherever life takes them.
Painting From Photo
If you’ve ever considered getting a painting from a photo as a gift for a loved one, we are here to help with a suggestion.
While you may want to dabble in art yourself, not everyone is skilled in the master craft of drawing, sketching, or painting. That’s why hiring a professional to do it for you makes sense. You can get an oil painting made from a photograph of your loved ones, a travel scene on your recent vacation, a painted portrait of your house, a place you remember from your childhood, or a favorite family photograph where the gang was all together. :)
For a one-of-a-kind art piece, you can get an oil painting from a photograph at PaintThePhoto.com.
They are able to offer any art you can imagine such as an oil portrait from a photo, a portrait with acrylic medium, a pencil sketch, a charcoal sketch, or even digital pet portraits.
It’s easy to get started: simply visit their website, choose the art medium, upload a photo, and add to cart. That’s it!
Then, they begin creating your one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
