So, you want to make photo table numbers for your wedding reception but you’re not sure how to do it? You’ve come to the right place thanks to Crossvine Designs. We’ll get into that in a minute, but first, a quick story. :)
A few months ago, I had the pleasure of making photo table numbers for a family wedding and it was amazing. I collected photos from parents of the bride and groom, uploaded them to my computer, and started looking online on how to turn these photos into cute table numbers featuring the bride and groom in different times of their lives: early days of dating, baby photos, teen years, favorite pictures from the couple’s travels, etc. Also, I included a few “fun” pictures, like the couple’s pets, favorite concerts, and more.
But when making these table numbers, I realized something: there was no easy place to do it, with templates and uploading and resizing available.
I’m a tech nerd, so I did it all myself with a few tweaks, graphic design, and printing at a local print shop. But it made me realize that this project would have been entirely more difficult if I didn’t already know things like uploading photos and then resizing to fit the specs of a 4×6″ table number holder and include the table numbers large enough for guests to see.
Long story short — you must have realized by now reading this blog that my stories are never ‘quick’, ha! — they came out beautifully, and the couple loved them. But I still wanted to find an easier way to make photo table numbers for weddings or bridal showers for people who may not want to do it all on their own and need a little assistance to make these magical photo numbers come to life.
And that’s when I found Crossvine Designs. Heather has created a way to make photo table numbers an easy thing you can do yourself (with her assistance and beautiful templates). She’s also wonderful to work with, so asking questions or needing help is a breeze! She’s there to help. :)
How to Make Photo Table Numbers in 3 Easy Steps
You can make your table numbers with photos from your smartphone, computer, or any digital device in three easy steps.
1. Visit the shop and purchase the table numbers template of your choice.
You can see an entire section dedicated to photo table numbers in the shop here. Scroll through the designs, pick the one you like best, and buy it. Here are a few examples.
If you prefer fun facts table numbers, those are a fun idea, too! Each table number can include a favorite photo and a fun fact about you as a couple. Things to include can be favorite places to eat, travel, names of your pets, where you first went on a date, favorite tv shows, musicians, etc.
Choose the design you want and order it.
2. Insert your photos.
Using the free program Adobe Acrobat Reader (which your computer probably already has, or you can get it here), you’ll insert your photos into the template.
Note: You need the photos sized to 4″ x 6″ before inserting them. IF YOU ARE UNSURE how to do it, you can purchase this listing and they’ll resize the photos to fit the template for you (yay!) You can order that listing here!
Insert the photos and save your files to your computer.
2. Choose a print shop + print them out.
You’ll be printing these out yourself, so pick a place to print them locally (a FedEx, Kinko’s or similar shop) to you OR choose an online printer and have them shipped to you. I used Shutterfly for mine and they turned out beautifully!
3. Buy table number holders.
You will need holders to display these photo table numbers. I bought these from Amazon and LOVED the way they look!
You can also use holders like these, available in antique copper, black, silver, gold, etc.
For an affordable (sometimes even free!) option, ask your venue if they have number holders you can rent or borrow for your reception. Most offer a standard black metal holder, which works great for nearly any decor; however, if you have something specific in mind, I recommend you buy them ahead of time and test them out before your big day. :)
Simply insert your photo table numbers into the holders and, voilà! You’re done!
Guests will love the personal touch of seeing your photos at each table. This will not only add to your decor but will also encourage guests to mingle at other tables and spark conversation.
