Hi, loves! Emma here and today we’re writing about something we never thought we’d talk about here: where to buy sneeze guard for a counter, partition, or wall at your wedding bar/reception. If you’ve been to a store recently, you’ve noticed the new counter sneeze guard or even free-standing sneeze guards at offices, work, and school.
A thick sneeze guard is made with acrylic or plexiglass, designed to protect people from each other when talking (usually ordering or exchanging goods). When I went to a wine tasting recently, I stood in front of a giant sneeze guard and was able to chat with the wine server; the bottom of the sneeze guard was open so she could hand me different wines to sample.
It is funny to call it a sneeze guard since most people aren’t dramatically sneezing in front of it, but the thickness of the plastic is strong enough to keep even a HUGE sneeze from penetrating it. :) At least, that’s how it’s supposed to work. It also keeps little spit particles, coughs, sneezes, etc. from going through the guard, which keeps everyone safer.
Its sort of like a giant salad bar sneeze guard… but designed to stand up on counters and is being used for everything from shopping to restaurants to weddings. I don’t think anyone minds a giant protective layer between them and a bartender during COVID-19, right? Right! So, if you’re wondering where to buy sneeze guards, we’ve found some great options, particularly if your venue isn’t providing them for you and/or you’re sourcing your own / planning a backyard or outdoor wedding.
Sneeze Guard for Counter
Some things have changed for now, but a sneeze guard for wedding receptions is probably the newest thing we’ve seen — in addition to face masks for weddings, of course.
These sneeze guards can be used for any situation where you’re standing in front of someone and ordering something at a table, counter, booth, or stand. Since you’re probably busy planning your wedding, a sneeze guard for counter might be used for a wedding food truck, s’mores or donut bar, cocktail bars, or even for the DJ booth at your wedding. A plexiglass countertop shield or acrylic sneeze guard allows a guest to order and receive a drink or food item (or in cases of the DJ booth, request a song!)
The bottom of the sneeze guard has an opening to pass a drink, fun cocktail napkins, food, etc.
The best and most ultra-thick sneeze guards we’ve found are available at a great price from LeftCoastOriginal and they’re currently 20% off, too.
These thick sneeze guards sit easily on a counter and can EVEN BE PERSONALIZED! How’s that for making your social distance wedding a bit better? You can add your names in the corner or highlight the hashtag of your wedding to encourage guests to share their favorite wedding day photos on social media.
If you’re planning a social distance wedding during COVID, a sneeze guard is a must! It is easy to stand up on its own with acrylic holders, making it the perfect choice and size as a guard for counters to protect guests and servers.
A countertop sneeze guard is an essential for your wedding bar, so be sure to grab your sneeze guard here. It’s handmade, too (yay!) so you’re supporting a small business while planning your big day.
We love that!
TIP: At your wedding bar, you should also have a pump bottle of hand sanitizer (like this) on the counter. This style is actually touchless, so it is motion-activated. This is great for encouraging guests to sanitizer their hands without even touching a pump! It has great reviews on Amazon. Make sure you purchase the kind that is specifically for hand sanitizer gel — NOT soap! — or you’ll have a real mess on your hands (no pun intended). :)
Also, you’ll want to use disposable cups at the bar. This will help to keep germs down!
Happy Planning!
