Another week, another fabulous wedding trend — and an Ask Emmaline question to boot! Ashley wants to know where to buy a wedding leather jacket to pair with her wedding gown (which has a tulle skirt) while, you know, riding off into the sunset after the reception. Or at least that’s what I imagine because that sounds amazing. :) She writes,
“Hi Emmaline! I am planning an October wedding and I saw this wedding leather jacket on Pinterest but now I can’t find it anywhere. I like the style and I am not particular on that jacket, but realize now that I really want a bride leather jacket for my wedding reception. I am wearing a gown with tulle skirt and think it will look really cute paired together. Do you have any ideas where to get one? How much do they cost? I know I need to buy it ASAP so any help it much appreciated. Thanks so much.”
Ah, yes — the leather jacket for weddings! Great question. We’ll explore this trend in today’s post, share our favorite leather jackets for the bride, and give you inspiration on how to make a custom wedding leather jacket with a cool removable decal. It’s all inside…
One of my favorite things about the wedding biz is the constant (amazing) inspiration. Everywhere you look there’s a new trend or fashion statement to try, or even a new accessory to love. The latest trend, particularly this time of year, is the wedding leather jacket. I’ve seen these in person and online and I can’t get enough of ’em! My own obsession with this trend began when I spotted this leather bridal jacket at BHLDN.
Isn’t it cute?
Wedding Leather Jacket
I adored this bride leather jacket the minute I saw it. It costs a bit higher than I would have anticipated, but that includes the leather jacket and the design. I’m seeing that many bride jackets have a base price for calligraphy and custom hand-painted art, while the jacket is sourced by you (or by the seller for an additional fee).
Regardless of the price, it sure is cute.
If it’s in your budget, and you love it, you can get it here.
If it’s not in your budget, we have good news: you don’t have to spend $1100 on a bridal leather jacket. You don’t even have to spend $500. That’s why we love Etsy so much — get right to the heart of the matter and get a custom-made wedding leather jacket, personalized just for you by an independent artisan, for a great price. Many of these range under around $200 or even $150.
These “Mrs” wedding leather jacket examples are from UnorthodoxBride.
Prefer your married last name on the back? You can get a custom “Mrs. _____” on the back of the leather jacket, like this one.
Want a khaki colored leather jacket instead? Want your bridal leather jacket emblazoned with a custom line or song lyric? You got it!

And if you don’t want to splurge on a wedding leather jacket, here’s an alternative: make it yourself with a removable decal!
Make a custom wedding leather jacket
Good news: you can even make your own bride leather jacket for around $20. Yes, twenty bucks! Here’s how: simply take an already worn-in-and-loved leather jacket (or snag one cheap from here) and buy a decal from CoLettersDesign. She will customize your decal (and it only costs around $20) to be applied to your jacket. And you can remove the decal when you’re done and wear your leather jacket forever!
I love the jacket in black, but it’s also available in white (for the bride) and mint (for your bridesmaids). A mod alternative to the bridesmaid robe, perhaps?
More colors available here.
And here’s the decals you can buy to design your own custom bride leather jacket!
These jackets also make cute engagement gifts for her or wedding shower gifts. If you want one, add it to your Amazon registry (you can add items from anywhere on the web, all on one convenient list).
Okay, now I want one!
