DIY Bow Tie

Dress up your ring bearer with this diy bow tie! Lately we have been featuring finds for the bride, the groom, the bridesmaids… but we can’t leave out the little guy – the ring bearer! We spotted this darling diy via Dana Made It which would be a fun project for the weekend. This big floppy bow can be used to embellish anything (Dana mentions using it to accessorize) but we think it would be positively perfect as a bow tie for the ring bearer. This bow tie can be handmade using any color fabric you’d like so it is easy to complement with your color palette or coordinate with your wedding theme. At first glance it looks fairly simple to DIY, but you will need to know how to do a few simple sewing exercises. I can’t wait to go out and buy some fabric to make some of these myself. Since I am already married, and don’t have any little boys of my own (yet), I’ll be attempting to make tiny versions for Geppetto and Shadow. I’m not sure if cats like to be dressed up (doubtful) but with enough treats + cat nip these boys can be talked into it I’m sure. However, if you are planning a wedding your ring bearer will love his custom bow tie, and his mom will love the memento after the wedding day. Who knows – maybe you’ll become a masterful artisan of this bow and your groom will even ask for a few custom bow ties of his own! ;)
