Chair Ribbons

Chair ribbons are a fun + easy way to dress up your wedding ceremony or reception chairs. Last week we featured an Alice in Wonderland themed wedding with chair ribbons + hanging mirrors that knocked our socks off. It was such a fun idea that inspired me to go knee-deep in search of ribbon inspiration… and, holy wow, talk about a full-fledged ribbon phenomenon! In fact, not only did I discover tons of chair ribbons but also programs with multi-colored ribbon bindings, ribbon wands in lieu of flower girl petals, wall decor with ribbons, ribbon garland, and more. I love this trend because while chair sashes are pretty, chair ribbons offer color variety and add a whimsical touch. The completed look is bright, colorful + cheery and adds a ton of charm to an outdoor wedding ceremony or reception. This is also a project that is easy to DIY: just gather up tons of ribbon in shades which complement your palette and tie to the backs of chairs. Easy, peasy. To save a little moolah, look for discounts on ribbon at local craft stores. Ribbon tends to go on sale often. In fact, I went to Michael’s last week and bought a ton of ribbon for 50% off. Nice! Here’s a smattering of chair ribbons as inspiration for your wedding:

I can’t wait to research more ribbon projects and share them with you. This is a fun detail for literally any occasion – birthdays, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, soirées…

Seriously, there is no information out there about how much ribbon you need per chair??? I wish there was some standard…Like 3 meters per chair, or something. If anyone finds out. Let us know!
