When I was planning my wedding, my venue wouldn’t allow for petals sprinkled down the aisle. I know this is a problem for other brides as it was for me so I am happy to find new flower basket alternatives. One of my favorite flower basket alternatives is the flower girl wand. These flower girl wands are handmade by Maihar Design (with beautiful photos by matthew niemann) and are easy for little hands to carry down the aisle. You can also surprise your bridesmaids with them, too, in lieu of bouquets. The wands are hand-sewn with an 18″ stem and topped with a silk flower. The stem has been wrapped in green grosgrain ribbon and adorned with a faux suede leaf. Take a look at a few of the colors available:

Very pretty colors! My florist made a wand out of real flowers for my flower girl and it was the first I’d seen anything like it. It was beautiful and she was so happy since she wasn’t allowed to toss petals either.
This is a great accessory for the younger girls to hold.
