Do you love chocolate? Who doesn’t? I especially like Hershey bars, the traditional milk chocolate kind. It is a simple + sweet treat with just the right amount of chocolate. It’s no wonder we gave away candy bar wedding favors at our reception. You see, edible wedding favors are some of the best, as you never have to worry about having leftovers. And if there are any, you get to eat ’em!
If you are wondering how to make candy bar wedding favors, you’re in luck! We’re showing you how easy it is (and surprisingly affordable) to create one-of-a-kind favors wrapped in cool customized wrappers your guests will eat right up.
GOOD-TO-KNOW TIP: Chocolate candy bar favors are not recommended for outdoor summer weddings; they will absolutely melt all over everything! Instead, you can wrap these or try these as alternates.
Here’s what you need to make your own.

Candy Bars in Bulk
When you’re making your own candy bar favors, you’ll want to save money as much as possible by purchasing your candy bars in bulk. When we got married, we sourced our chocolate bars from Costco. We started shopping before Halloween, when the bulk candy boxes were available; we got them at a huge discount and saved them in a cool, dark place until our wedding day (only a month or two).
If you’re not a Costco member, try other wholesale stores like Sam’s Club or Gordon Foods. Personally, I find similarly awesome deals on Amazon, especially because you can usually get free 2-day shipping and everything arrives right to your door.
I noticed if you buy this Hershey bar pack, they give you 36 bars plus one bonus for sampling! Now that’s smart.
You can get a great deal on ordering these candy bar favors from here.
You can buy any regular candy bar of your choice, but I recommend the Hershey bars simply because the size fits these wrappers perfectly. And the black wrapping on the sides makes it look cohesive and perfect for giving away as wedding favors.
Next, you’ll need candy bar wrappers.
Custom Candy Bar Favor Wrappers
You can buy these candy bar wrappers from LabelsRUs. Here are a few designs to inspire you, but you’ll find tons more in their shop.
To put them together, you simply wrap a wrapper around the candy bar, use the included adhesive to seal the wrapper, and you’re done! Place candy bar wedding favors at each guest’s seat. See? So easy. And delicious.
Note: Always keep away from direct sunlight. If needed, you can place the candy on a table elsewhere in your reception with a sign like this (below) from Art Home Boutique.
And if you want/need a smaller option, try these from Beau-coup. The wrappers are personalized for you and chocolate is included. See it here.
