Repeat after me: invitations don’t need to be complicated to be beautiful!
Simple designs represent classic, timeless, and elegant wedding themes.
If a complex or luxury stationery suite isn’t your style, it’s OK to go with a more classic approach. Today we’re sharing our top picks for simple, minimalist wedding invitations and answering a question from bride-to-be, Stefanie.
She wants to know where to get simple wedding invites and wonders if it is OK to be a bit toned down on the invitation front. She writes,
“Dear Emmaline, the whole invitation suite isn’t really my thing. I haven’t been able to find invitations that resonate with our minimalist style. I’m just looking for simple wedding invites: nothing too fancy, just nice! I don’t want to spend a lot of money on them and I just want to make sure I include what guests need to know. Do you have any tips for where to buy simple minimalist wedding invitations? Do I need to go with more of a luxury style since it is my wedding? Thank you!”
Ah, Stefanie: these are terrific questions! First and foremost, you do not need to feel pressure to go with a luxury set of invitations if that’s really not your style (or in the budget).
As a rule of thumb, you should choose wedding invitations that reflect your unique style and personality, as well as the theme of your wedding. With that being said, it sounds like your wedding is going to be more simple and classic, perhaps more minimalist in style. I think buying simple invitation cards makes perfect sense! As long as you provide the essentials — who, what, where, and when — I don’t see any problem in going with a basic invitation.
The good news? We found plenty of beautiful yet simple wedding invites that don’t break the bank, aren’t crazy-busy with a lot of patterns and layers, and will evoke a minimalist feel perfectly.
These invitations are from the collection at Minted, each one designed by an independent artist. These particular styles are best suited for simple weddings with a minimalist undertone, so I have a good feeling you’ll end up picking The One in this list. :)
