It’s engagement season! Here’s what you’ll need for your engagement ring. P.S. Follow along now or you’ll be out of the loop!
This weekend, two of our close friends, Holly & Mike, got engaged (congrats, you guys)! We can’t wait to see her gorgeous engagement ring + hear all about the the proposal. So it got me to thinking, with all these engagements and proposals and engagement rings, we wanted to share some things you’ll need for engagement ring care. Plus, we’re even giving away one of these pretty finds to one lucky reader. Read on for more!
6 Things You Need After the Ring
1. A Photo + a Mug
Snap a photo of that sparkler! Here’s one adorable announcement for your Instagram:
And seriously, check out these adorable engagement ring selfies to inspire your own, where we spotted this one.
Oh, and you can show off that sparkler at the office with one of these clever mugs, too!
2 A really fun manicure
Everyone’s going to want to see that ring. And seriously, if you’re not going to get a manicure now, when WOULD you get one? ;) These nail wraps make it so easy to have perfect nails that last.
For engagement ring care, you’ll definitely need a good cleanser. Since soap and water can dull the band and stone, you’ll want to use a gentle cleanser to keep it in tip top shape. This stuff works wonders. You’ll want to pair it with one of these cloths, for quick gentle shine-ups.
4. Ring Dish
When you’re washing dishes, doing laundry, working out, painting, etc., you’ll want a safe place to keep your ring. A ring dish will do the trick! Here are a few of our faves from ring dish expert, Elycia Camille:
Know your warranty info just in case your ring is lost and needs to be replaced.
6. Peace of Mind
Some people recommend insurance, and that’s great if it gives you peace of mind. I opted out of ring insurance because I never, ever take it off and because it’s one more thing to add to your monthly expenses (and we hate to do that to you). However, it’s worth noting because some brides really find it gives them peace of mind knowing their ring is protected.

“My husband and I hand make all of our items ourselves. This miniature dish is cast from a mold we created of a baby potato. The exterior of the dish is lumpy and wrinkled like a potato, while the inside is much more smooth. We use a bright white earthenware clay. Much more durable than white porcelain. We stamp them with dark brown ink one letter at a time using a vintage typewriter font. We fire them with a lead free, clear glossy glaze over the ink so that your text will last.”
