Wedding invitations can be a HUGE bummer when it comes to price. You’re just going along, pricing it all out when BAM, the price of invitation cards, envelopes, RSVP cards, mini envelopes, postage, and more ruin your day.
Well, that’s how it feels anyway. ;)
Don’t you wish there was an easy way to get wedding invites cheap? Now there is! I made you the ultimate list.
When it comes to planning, the cost of everything — including paper goods like invites — can really add up quickly. A quick glance over your guest list will have you thinking, we have a major problem here, when in reality, you just need to know where to shop to get invites for affordable prices.
And for your wedding cheap invitations may seem hard to find… so we did the digging for you.
In this blog post, I’ll show you EXACTLY where to shop for cheap wedding invitations that won’t totally wreck your budget and still leave you a little wiggle room for extras.
Instead of a massive list of every possible vendor, I limited it to my top four picks. This is because I’ve used all four of these, so I know the quality first-hand. In addition, I don’t want to recommend a brand to you that I’ve never tried myself and I can’t recommend someone unless I know, for sure, they’re awesome (because I 100% value our readership). Some of those are the cheapest wedding invitations for a reason (but they’re not worthy of recommending, fwiw).
In addition, you’re busy: you don’t have time to scroll through dozens of vendors to find a wedding invitation on a budget. So, let’s get down to business: here are the best places to shop budget wedding invites you’ll actually love to send to family and friends.
Let’s GO!
In this blog post, we’ll show you the top 4 places I recommend to couples looking for budget-friendly invitations. I trust these sources because the results are beautiful, yet not as pricey as other places. In addition, I’ll show you some easy tips and tricks you can do now to cut costs on wedding invitations and stretch your dollar even further.

Wedding Invites for Cheap
1. Minted
Cost: Invitations as low as $2.93 each; paper-saving options; free envelopes; postcard options for RSVP for cheaper postage, free sample, free addressing on envelopes, more.
I wholeheartedly adore Minted for its unique invitation designs. While it is more of a luxury brand, you can find some really amazing deals in their savvy collection that are ideal for couples on a budget. With streamlined styles, you’ll be saving money on invites immediately.
For instance, they offer a unique all-in-one style, which eliminates the need for a separate RSVP card (it is attached with perforation to the bottom of your invite) and folds into itself with no outer envelope needed. In addition, the RSVP card is a postcard, making it easy to send in the mail (with cheaper postage!) and no outer envelope, as well.
In addition, they offer FREE guidance on their invitations to give you the best possible design even on a budget. You can book a Wedding Concierge consultation which is free for 30 minutes and you can speak with an invitation professional directly. Schedule yours here.
When it comes to saving money on invites, Minted is my number one pick.

4. Etsy
Last but not least, Etsy! There is a treasure trove of amazing wedding finds on Etsy.
Some are the cheapest wedding invitations I’ve ever seen, while others are more luxurious.
As you can imagine, pricing is all over the board based directly on the designer who makes them and any extras you’d like to add. But I highly recommend these cheap options: InvitationSigniture (sale right now with invites as low as $0.35 each!), FeelGoodInvites (as low as $1.16), and InvitationElegant.
You can even get wildly unique styles, like these wooden invites from EngraWed that cost less than you may think.
For digital templates you can print yourself here, try VineWedding on Etsy. It’s a great shop!

Cheap DIY Wedding Invitations
You can make your own wedding invitations with a little design skill and a program like Adobe, download a template from Etsy, or upload your own creation and print it on Zazzle.
To make sure your DIY invites look their very best, print a sample before you print them all. And be sure to use the best quality heavy-weight paper you can afford (minimum of 65lb for wedding invitations to 100lb). The quality will look better and ink will print nicer on heavy card-stock. Plus, it won’t look so “DIY”.
How Much Should You Spend on Invitations?
Most couples can expect to pay around 2% of their overall budget on wedding invitations (4% total for all stationery). Your actual cost may vary if you have more guests at one household (you only need to send one invite per household, not per guest), opt for budget-friendly stationery, or choose to go the digital invite route.
For some of the options outlined above, you can expect to spend anywhere from $116 and upwards for 100 wedding invites and envelopes.

How to Do the Cheapest Wedding Invites
The most popular cheap way to do invitations is by getting a template and printing them at your local print store or uploading your own design to print online.
Other ways to get the cheapest invites you possibly can is to skip the bells and whistles. All you really need is the invitation card, an outer envelope, and an RSVP card of some kind. I highly encourage you to add a wedding website to your card with a QR code for guests to scan and respond online. It’s nice and easy. Here’s how to do it with step-by-step instructions.
If you need to, skip any “extras” like wax seals, vellum jackets, tissue paper, belly bands, etc. The extras add up in cost and if you don’t really care whether you have them or not, it may not be worth spending the extra money on your invitations just to have them.
Skip foil finishes if they’ll send your invite price skyrocketing. Opt for a clean, single style printing without any extras and you’ll see significant savings
In addition, you can cut your stationery spending by opting for digital FREE save the date cards (get them here) vs. printing and mailing them out. What a savings!
Don’t forget to include postage in your overall spending. The cost of stamps keeps rising, so you may want to buy Forever Stamps at your post office now to “lock in” your price in case it increases again in 2024. :)
Last but not least, choose freebies when you can get them. Minted offers FREE envelopes with your invitation order (score!) and will even print the addresses on them for you for FREE. That is a huge savings in time for you, so take advantage of it!

P.S. Are these the cheapest ever made? No, but they are the best quality in affordable invites. I had bad luck with many other vendors, so I’m not going to pass on their names to you. Just know that I’ve tried — and loved — all of the above for many weddings, so they’re tried and true.
Hope it helps!
