That’s exactly how it went with this message from — let’s just call him “L” — so we don’t blow the surprise.

He writes,

“Emmaline, I need help finding an engagement ring I think I saw on your site or somewhere else. My girlfriend loves it and it’s an engagement ring that looks like a flower. It’s white gold with almost petals on it, but they’re made of diamonds. She loves flowers and wants a unique ring, so I’d like to find it or something similar to propose. Can you help?”

Great question!

I love this inquiry because I recall something quite similar, although I’m hoping the one I’m picturing is exactly what you’re envisioning, too.

Your girlfriend has great taste: flower engagement rings are one of the big emerging trends in jewelry. We’re seeing brilliant new designs popping up all the time. As you point out, she wants a unique ring and a flower — non-traditional rings are a surefire way to express one’s individual style.

To top it off, many of the flowers have hidden meaning, so there’s a bit of symbolism in there, too.

Some choose the birth flower of their partner; others opt for a favorite bloom. And many decide to choose an engagement ring that looks like a flower with a particular symbol, like how a Lotus flower represents zen.
