16 Best Honeymoon Packing Tips
1. The Obvious Essentials
We won’t waste numbers one through fourteen with boring honeymoon packing list must-haves that are yawn basically the things you already know about, so we’ll just outline them here all in number one. :)
These are the kind of boring yet essential honeymoon packing list items that you definitely need to have.
– Your Driver’s License / Identification
– Passport (if planning an international trip)
– Cash / Credit Cards (call ahead to your banks or credit cards to let them know where you’ll be, so your cards don’t get flagged for suspicious charges)
– Your Booking Confirmations in your phone and printed out with three copies: one for each of your bags, one for someone back at home so you have a back-up just in case
– Health Insurance Card
– Travel Itinerary
– Phone Chargers
2. Luggage Tags
Cute luggage tags aren’t just fun to add to your bag, but they’re functional to keep an eye on which bag is yours when it is checked. It also helps in the case that your bag is lost, as your information is listed on it for retrieval purposes.
These adorable Mr and Mrs wedding luggage tags make a great gift and are a must-have when packing for your honeymoon. By LetterandLeather.

3. Sturdy Luggage
You probably already own a set of luggage that you love or at least a giant suitcase that you can always depend on for travel. Whenever possible, Andrew and I use a giant rolling luggage bag and we both pack our stuff in it (although usually, it suits us best for a long weekend).
If you pack a lot, you’ll probably want your own suitcase or luggage. But it doesn’t have to cost a lot of money! When picking out luggage, focus on pieces that are easy to lug around (rollers: a definite bonus!) and a nice long handle that is retractable is always a plus. Hard-cased luggage is great for travelers who don’t want to get any of their souvenirs bumped around and want luggage for the “long haul”. :)
This set is wildly-popular right now and is 70% off, with over 16,000 ratings. (Wow!) It is highly-rated for durability, for the carry-on size and utility, and is available in many colors. This would make a nice addition to your wedding registry. (Don’t have a universal registry yet? Wyd? Get one here for FREE.) Honeymoon luggage by Rockland.
4. Comfortable Slip-On Shoes and Sandals
A pair of comfortable shoes that you can slip on for relaxing, walking around town, or hanging out at your resort. Bonus points if it’s also comfortable enough for travel (these are!) and fit like a slipper — but they have a real sole on the bottom, so they’re really a shoe! They have 7-layers of comfort and there are other slip-on styles to love in their shop. By Birdies.
These are just one example that is great for summer; however, there are more slip-on shoes you’ll love that are totally packable here.
In addition, something you’ll want/need to pack for your honeymoon is a pair of sandals to wear on the beach. We love these ‘I Do’ sandals from BlondarazziDesigns and they’re easy to toss in your tote bag.
5. Cute Carry-On / Go Everywhere Bag

8. Manicure + Pedicure
Okay, so you’re not technically packing this on your honeymoon, but you need to get a pedicure before you leave on your honeymoon. If you’re not planning to get a pedicure for your wedding, add it in! Or schedule pedicure services when you arrive at the resort or honeymoon destination and treat yourself. It will be a lot nicer walking through those sandy shores and rocking these adorable sandals with freshly painted nails and no callouses. Truth. :)
Stubborn about getting a manicure? No time? Do this instead — it’s the next best thing.
And bring along your favorite nail polish to give yourself a quick pedicure before you get ready for the sandy shore. I love anything by Essie because you only need one coat and it lasts. The new Electric Pink is my go-to. :)
9. Loungewear + Cute Packable Dresses
You can get resort wear and comfy loungewear to wear over your swimsuit or while relaxing on your honeymoon from DippinDaisys. This is one of my favorites: I’ve seen it in person and had the opportunity to wear it. It is just as comfy as it looks yet with a flirty, honeymoon style!
I have it with the knotted shirt and the pants. I like to wear this one around the house!
You can browse more resort wear and loungewear, even skirts that go from day to night (great for hanging around at the resort and then going out to dinner with your new spouse!)
See more here from their resort / lounge collection.
You’ll also want to have cute clothes when going out to dinner or hanging out at your hotel. These easy to pack maxi dresses from Salty Crush are one of my favorite new finds. The styles are amazing; the fabric is soooo soft and luxurious! Here are a few maxi dresses to pack for your honeymoon from their shop.

10. A Packable Sun Hat
Not only is it smart to keep your face protected from harsh SPF rays with proper sunscreen, but you’ll love the way a honeymoon sun hat looks and feels on your honeymoon.
Personalized? Check. Adorable? Check. Packable? Check! This one is by ModParty and it shows off your new last name on your honeymoon. This is something I wish I had on my honeymoon packing list, so I’m passing it on to you.
11. Honeymoon Face Masks
If you’re honeymooning during COVID-19, these helpful tips will come in handy. You’ll also want to pack a pair of reusable face masks, like these Bride and Groom face masks you can wear at your wedding, too. (We know you guys already love these wedding face masks for guests!)
Here are two options that people are loving right now: they’re as stylish as can be, are priced right, are easy to pack for your honeymoon, and they are adjustable.
These black and white masks are by StitchedyBabeCCS.
And these navy and white face masks are by AvaReignCreations.
12. Makeup + Makeup Remover Cloths
Fact: you’ll want to bring your favorite makeup along. Having a cute makeup kit that holds just your essentials is a great idea. One for him? Another fantastic plan.
These are fantastic, stylish, reusable travel kits for all of your essentials. Get one for you and one for them! Here are two of my favorite patterns but you can shop more here. Available only at Minted. You can even get FREE personalization!
Bringing makeup? Don’t forget this must-have when packing for your honeymoon: makeup remover. Instead of hauling around a makeup remover in a bottle that leaks, or cream that takes forever to work: get a MakeUp Eraser. I use mine EVERY SINGLE DAY. It’s one of my favorite things and I’m telling you this as though you’re my sister (and believe me, my sister hears about all my fave products and I only recommend the best!) She knows all about this one.
For your honeymoon, might I recommend the 7-day pack, so you can take out a new makeup remover cloth every day? It’ll be a lot easier than trying to clean it in the hotel room and re-use it.
This is the pack I have and I loooooove it. It is from here and it works. It’s better than your average throw-away remover and it goes in the washing machine, dryer, and comes out like new! And it feels nice on your face, so there’s no excuse to forget to take off your makeup ever again.
You can buy these and others like it here.
Plus, you won’t be throwing away more waste like those travel wipes!
13. Honeymoonin’ Sweatshirt
Chances are, you’ll want to layer up at some point, or have a cozy sweatshirt to wear around town. This is the one I would get if I were you! How cute can you get?! By NovemberandMae.

Where were these cute swimsuits when I got married?!
And I looooove this ‘Wifey for Lifey’ honeymoon swimsuit by DesignsbyChristineE.
You can get some stylish, easy-to-pack swimsuit coverups from DippinDaisys. They have many sarongs that are great to have on the beach or poolside.
16. Silicone Wedding Bands
This is something most couples don’t think about, but it is important to note when packing for your honeymoon. It is the best idea to leave your engagement ring and/or wedding band at home in a safe and not even bother taking it with you on your trip. If you lose it, that’s it! And there’s a better chance of losing it on the beach or in the water, at the resort, etc. So, instead of worrying about it, leave it at home and wear these affordable silicone wedding bands instead.
They’re stylish and comfortable to wear, and you’ll have them on-hand for future trips when you also won’t want to bring along your wedding rings and risk the chance of losing them. These are available at Enso Rings in a variety of colors, styles, and widths.
At time of publication, there is a 25% off sale happening now. :)
And since you’re a grown adult, you don’t need a reminder of the essential packing list for honeymoon items like toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, sunscreen, etc. :) I trust you know exactly what to pack for a trip. My only suggestion as a glasses and contacts wearer is to NOT FORGET to bring an extra contacts case, solution, and your glasses along! It would be a shame to run out of either while you’re on your honeymoon and not get to see everything crystal clear. :)
Another of my favorite honeymoon packing tips would be to bring an e-reader if you like to read on the beach, along with maybe a pack of playing cards so you can play a game together while waiting for dinner or if you encounter a rainy day.
We hope this helps! If you have anything to add to our what to pack for honeymoon list, be sure to let us know in the comment below.
